Classic Roopy.

Let's see if the 'local lads' can do it at home on Friday night.

I'm a Roosters fan and I must congratulate your NYC side on how they played. They played very direct and they were clinical in converting opportunities into points. Our NYC side were terrible on the weekend. We were missing several key players to injury but your mob were fantastic. Chris Knight caught my eye the minute he got on the field. Tyrone Roberts had a great game and William Smith I thought was also sensational in helping lead the team around the park. Nick Dwan is another who I think was fanastic. Zane Tetavano is ready for NRL football IMO, much like Con Mika was at about the same time last season.

Nick Dwan is another who I think was fanastic.
I'd love to see Nick get a run at fullback - it's his position for sure.
I'm a bit frustrated that he doesn't have the pace he should have.
Anyone with the huge step off both feet and easy stride he has should have decent pace, but time and again he poked his nose through the line and just didn't have an extra gear.
I think it would be worth while for the club to send him to a sprint coach, because he has size, step, positional play, safe hands - he just lacks the bit of pace he really looks like he should have.

The game was the best by the Knights this season. I hope it's the start of good things, but i can't get that Storm game out of my mind - worst effort by an NYC team i've seen.

Footy, what are your thoughts on Cheyse Blair?

Footy, what are your thoughts on Cheyse Blair?

Cheyse Blair is a very good player, making the Australian Schoolboy side last season is evidence of that. But sometimes it seems as though he doesn't look all that interested when on the field. I'd like to see more urgency from him and reminds me of Inglis. He can be brilliant when he wants to be. He is one of our best prospects at the Roosters and I think he'll be ready for NRL football within the next 12 months.

Sounds like another good win by the young lads. Beating the side running second.

With the bye next week, should be in the top 6 after 12 rounds. Looks promising without getting too hopeful.

I thought the boys were really impressive tonight in this game.

Their defense has improved quite a bit ( it needed to! ), and in the past being down 18-10 with 15-20 minutes to go wasn't something they'd be able to overcome.

They let in a couple of soft tries, but they are showing a spirit amongst each other that hasn't existed in any other NYC team we have put on the park.

You could see at the end of the game, there's a spirit and closeness amongst all the boys and its great to see.

Well done.

I really hope someone gets a run in 1st grade, might as well see what they can do instead of going with tried and tested no hopers like Wes and Dureau

Great win by the boys. They have been outstanding in both aspects of the game for the last couple of weeks. If they can find some consistency they will be around when the whips start cracking at the end of the year.

To reinforce Karma's point, it is great to see the spirit and pride in the side too. NOt only has this not been present in any of our previous NYC sides, it is rarely seen in ANY NYC side.

NYC: Newcastle Knights v Penrith Panthers
3.15pm Saturday 5 June 2010
CUA Stadium
1. Peter Mata’utia
2. Chanel Mata’utia
3. Harmony Hunt
4. Mitch Williams
5. Nick Dwan
6. Will Smith
7. Adrian Davis
8. Dane Cordner
9. Chad Redman
10. Josh Ailaoai
11. Zane Tetevano
12. Matt Herman
13. Ethan Cook
14. Jake Finn
15. Carl Means
16. Cruise Wilson
17. Alai Taufa’ao

Roberts out and Davis up from NSW cup.
Unless Roberts got injured in the week off, it must mean he is now one of the many players sitting on the sidelines waiting for firstgrade spots.
Nice to see Cordner starting - and apparently Ailoami ran for over 200 metres in his last game, so hopefully he is now back in form and we won't see two bad games for every good.
We have got the 2 points four weeks in a row and finally broken into the 8, and now we play second last placed Penrith. That means we will lose of course.

Yeah Ailaomai has 1 line break against his name, and I think it came from one of his hitups...so I'd guess he broke the line early in the tackle count, and ran for most of the field, as his hitup stats say 10 runs for 175m
