Why does he have to learn respect? And how is he disrespectful, because he tries to pull off big hits on more experienced players?

For his own sake. If you don't give respect to more senior players, karma will bite him on the arse. Again, I use Richie Williams as an example. Gave sh*t to Anasta, Anasta played his arse off and Richie Williams hasnt been heard from again.

JWH is already starting to get old. Hope he turns it around because he does have alot of talent.

Has JWH actually spoken out against players? Or did he just smack guys like Lockyer around?

Every team in this omp has some weaknesses but this kiwi mob cover a lot of their weaknesses in some positions by good experience and very ggod form.
I think they have the two bets wingers in the comp for attack and defence and the high ball in Nightingale and Vatuvi, they have aform centre and try scorer in Kenny-Dowall, Marshall will di his job in organising attcak and kicking, but they will aso kick from the dummy half a lot using Luke and Fien.
It is their forawrds who must hold the Brits and Roos, the likes of Luke, Jeremy Smith, Mannering,Eastwood must lead from the front and give room for their attackers.
They have a huge chance of winning this comp if that happens.

All he said off the field last year was that he wasn't intimidated by the Aussies and would rip in and then proceeded put some shots on guys like Petero etc who were giving him sh*t on the field calling him young pup etc. This respect thing is ridiculous. Because I still fail to see how he is disrespectful at all. And also considering he has already achieved or nearly achieved what a lot of those Aussies players have anyway.

I just realised that he doesn't have boots or socks on, Mannering must haven't been available for the photo so they just got someone to fill in for the photo I guess.

It's a link, I'm pretty sure that would only mean that the images can't be posted directly to the site.

not sure if this has been posted but the NZ squad against the Maoris is:

NZ Kiwis team: Lance Hohaia (Warriors), Jason Nightingale (Dragons), Shaun Kenny-Dowall (Roosters), Junior Sa’u (Knights) , Manu Vatuvei (Vodafone Warriors) Benji Marshall – C (Tigers), Thomas Leuluai (Wigan), Greg Eastwood (Leeds), Issac Luke (Rabbitohs), Adam Blair (Storm), Frank Pritchard (Panthers), Bronson Harrison (Raiders), Jeremy Smith (Dragons). Interchange (from): Nathan Fien (Dragons), Ben Matulino, (Warriors), Frank-Paul Nuuausala (Roosters), Simon Mannering (Warriors), Sika Manu (Storm), Jared Waerea-Hargreaves (Roosters).

id expect it to be somewhat similar for the 4 nations

He does need to learn respect. He has a bit of Richie Williams about him.

He does not have to learn respect...he plays the game on the line and that is his style. I find it amusing that the Aussies whinged about his comments and actions last year.

The guy plays the game hard and tough...he may not be the conventional go forward player which is actually refreshing to see.

A few observations and questions from the Samoa game:

1. The kiwis are quality and can def win the 4N. The forwards are powerful and quick, Marshall, Luke and fien are dangerous enough to worry australia, and they have quality finishers.

2. Leuluai is an ordinary halfback but a dangerous dummy half runner. Will Kearney rotate leuluai, fien and luke like he did last night, with leuluai starting at halfback? Or will he start fien at half and bring leuluai on to give luke a spell?

3. The selection of eastwood and Blair as props looks the goods - they both bent the line and had quick ptbs, and have good defensive mobility.

4. The kiwis attacked the right side at least as often as the left. With Nightingale and dowall in form
the kiwis have strike on both sides for the first time in years. Sau is still a weak link.

5. The backrowers haven't really learnt to run inside lines off Marshall and fien when they drift wide (though pritchard scored the last try like that). If they get those combinations going they will be hard to stop.

6. Hohaia is weak defensively and fullback is the one area australia has a clear advantage. Would perret be safer at the back? Is hohaia creativity needed if fien Marshall, Luke and leuluai are all being heavily used?

Can't wait for Oz v nz, should be an absolute belter.

There is no way Hohaia should be dropped from the starting team, his creativity is absolutely necessary, much better than that of Fien and Leuluai, who are both tradesmanlike at best at halfback. His contribution chiming into the line to add another playmaker is immensely important for NZ.

Lance may not be the strongest tackler, but the team factors that in and work with it.

Nevermind his dummies inside the 10 running left of the posts. Usually gets a few trys every tournament with the exact same play.

hohaia is a much better fullback (and player) than nightingale and perrett.

As a fullback Lance is pretty poor at the traditional duties. Poor positionally, not great under the high ball, average kick returns. But has been said he is good at chiming into back line moves and is pretty elusive close to the line.
