Looks like there are a few changes as numbers #20, #23 and #24 are warming up.

Fabian Goodall and Tepai Moeroa are out there but I can't spot Folau.

I think there are 19 players warming up so obviously 2 will drop off for the game.

Wenty are kicking off and running towards the club house today.

Goodall is playing left centre with Faraimo on his outside. Matele is at right centre with Fritz.

Big hit to start the game as who else but Tepai nails the North Sydney runner.

Good set of defence by Wenty and the Bears kick from their own half.

Fritz cleans up the ball and returns it to the 30m line. A strong carry from Faraimo gets the ball near halfway and draws the first penalty of the game.

Wenty resume play on the the Bear's 30m line.

And it is too easy for Wenty as Lasalo crashes over the posts from a short ball.

The conversion is successful.

Wenty lead the Bears 6-0

Good set after points as Wenty drive the ball over half way and Foran stabs a kick into the corner.

Some of these guys like Ben Smith and Lasalo are just a waste of space. They're never going to play first grade again and are just taking up spots of youngsters.
If they aren't good enough for first grade they should be f**ked right off.

Good metres for the Bears in reply but their kick is poor and lets Rawalui take the kick on the full.

Lasalo nearly puts Alvaro through up the middle but Rawalui is half a step behind in support and Alvaro correctly decides to hold onto the pill.

There are numbers down the left for Wetny from Alvaro's quick play the ball and Pewhairangi puts Moeroa into a gap. The rookie looks to his support on his left but has a defender between him and them. He looks to take on the fullback and steams over him to slam the ball down!

Great stuff from Wenty.

Bold stuff from Wenty as Lasalo throws a cut out ball to Goodall from the kick off.

They continue to chance their arms deeper in the set and an offload from Lasalo is snaffled up by the Bears.

Wenty then concede their first penalty of the game.

North Sydney go on the attack now.

Soft stuff there. The Bears spun it to their left where Wenty had the numbers matched up. The initial contact against Curtis Johnston was poor and the winger came back in field where he was able to find space between some forwards and dive over next to the posts.

The conversion is successful.

North Sydney trail Wenty 6-12

The Bears lift in the kick off set but Wenty meet them strongly around the ruck. Good footy from both teams.

The visitors look like they are running on the last but their #12 weaves a kick in that finds its way in goals. Rawalui maybe could have played at that in the field of play but now has his work cut out to get back into the field of play.

He fails to and worse- he loses the ball! The Bears dive on it for the easiest try you will see...

Pressure building on Wenty now as a 40/20 attempt just goes out on the full. Ben Jones was centimetres off there and the touchie hesitated to wave the flag.

The Magpies dodge a bullet as they quickly regain the ball from a poor offload.

The home team finally click back into gear as Goodall puts Faraimo down the left sideline. Bureta backs himself as he has done plenty of times this season but for once, he comes up short.

The ref signals that he is held up over the line and play comes back 10m for the last tackle. Wenty try to thread a grubber in but the execution is terrible and they are very lucky to earn another set as a defender knocks on.

Odd footy early in the next set as both teams seem confused by a Pewhairangi run that goes everywhere and no where at the same time.

Lasalo gets the set back on track as he steams directly towards the try line and the impetus of the run gives Pewhairangi some space to work in and he fires a Norman-esque cut out ball to Faraimo who strolls over untouched in the corner.

A good run and play-the-ball from Moeroa gives Jones space to work in and he darts down the left edge shortside and fires the ball out to Faraimo who sets off the sideline again.

He has Pewhairangi and one more in support on his right but decides to take the fullback on. He runs over him but is pulled down by supporting defenders and a try goes begging.

Wenty manage to engineer a repeat set through Goodall who puts in a perfectly weighted grubber to get the dropout.

Ben Smith does very well to keep the ball in play from the drop out and Wenty work it back towards the posts.

Lasalo repeats his earlier efforts as he simply rolls through some flimsy defence to score next to the posts.

The conversion is successful.

Wenty extend their lead to 24-10

Pewhairangi bursts through the defence down the left from the kickoff! He links up with Rawalui in support and the fullback goes the remainder of the distance to score.
