Repeat set now for Wenty as Foran gives boot to a fantastic kick that traps the fullback in goals.

Wenty can't crack the Bears in this set but earn a penalty after Fritz was taken without the ball in a kick contest on the last.

Nothing comes from the additional set as the home team lose the ball near the posts.

North Sydney scrum 10m out from their goal line.

Wenty defend this set easily but essentially gift the Bears a try against the run of of play in the next set as a Pewhairangi pass ends up behind Goodall and Faraimo.

Mark O'Daire cleans it up and races down field, outpacing Goodall to score after centreing the ball.

The conversion is successful.

The Bears trail Wenty 16-30

Error followed by error now as Wenty kick off on the full.

The Bears decide to kick for touch and will resume play from Wenty's 30m line.

They take the ball to their left but lose the ball in a physical tackle by Ma'afu and Matale.

Wenty scrum 10m out from their goal line.

A good carry from Ben Smith takes some pressure off Wenty after struggling with some good line speed by the visitors and Foran rifles off another ripper of a kick from deep in his own half that earns a line drop out! There was an incredible chase for that ball from what might have been Moeroa.

Wenty have two plays with the ball from the restart but can't come up with a try scoring initiative and will head into the sheds at half time with a fourteen point lead.

Wenty lead North Sydney 30-16

Faraimo takes the first hit up for the second half and he is followed by Kei and Maliota.

Mataele runs an inside slant from Ben Jones and beats a few defenders before he is pulled down and Wenty bring play down their left on the last for Foran to kick once more.

Another deft kick that pulls up between the winger and fullback and a good chase pins the Bears inside their 10m.

Sloppy stuff from the Bears afterwards as they lose the ball three times, with Wenty scooping it up on the third occasion.

Wenty too have a sloppy play the loses them some metres before an incisive run from Pewhairangi takes the ball back to the try line. The Magpies run it down their right on the last but a good read and jam on Mataele forces an error and a turnover.

Mataele has stayed down after the hit before getting up gingerly and limping back into the line.

Late call by the ref after the crowd growled for a forward pass. He took a good 5 second to call that one.

Wenty scrum 10m into the Bear's half.

Jones feeds the ball to Mataele from the scrum win and Moeroa follows his carry with another great charge of his own.

Poor hands from Taunaola Kei brings to end to the raid.

The Bears go on the attack from the scrum win and look to have caught Wenty short but the final pass is a tough one to take and both teams have failed attempts at securing it, resulting in a Wenty scrum.

Moeroa has another hit up down the right before there is a burrow over attempt that is repelled. The pressure built down the right opens up the left edge and some crisp passing from Pewhairangi to Goodall to Faraimo sees the powerhouse winger cross in the corner again.

The conversion is unsuccessful.

Wenty lead the Bear 34-10

Hit ups for Faraimo and Key to start the next set as Maliota and Moeroa follow them.

Mataele finds himself with the ball on the last and punches the ball through where it is easily taken the North Sydney custodian.

The Bears work it to their right before centreing it for the last tackle. They send it high towards Ben Fritz who leaps up and takes the ball but the ref nails Wenty for running a chaser off the ball.

Penalty to the visitors.

They spin it to the right yet again but some aggressive defence sends them backwards. They come back to the posts where they get a beneficial call for what looked to be a knock on but they lose the ball on the next play in any event.

The ref is very quick to kill the play which is unfortunate as Wenty had cleaned the ball up and were off for a length of the field try...

The Magpies find space for Faraimo down the left again and he makes a good 50m before he is just pulled down by the opposition fullback.

Wenty shift the ball cross field where Lasalo is just tackled before immediately doubling back to the left. The rapid changes in the attacking focal points pull the North Sydney defence apart and Pewhairangi goes through in a canter for an easy meat pie.

The conversion is successful.

Wenty extend their lead to 40-16

Alvaro is back on and takes the second hit up of this set. Good charge from the young bull.

Pewhairangi throws a simple ball to Goodall who nearly breaks through via sheer power. He is just pulled in but Wenty are on the march.

They shape for the bomb but instead stab the ball in towards the post in a set play as Rawalui flies through, says thank you for the perfect bounce and promptly scores behind the left up right.

The conversion is successful.

Wenty lead the Bears 46-16

Alvaro has the opening charge this time around and fights his way towards the 20m line.

Moeroa is up for the next carry and Lasalo and Alvaro follow him up.

Wenty then shift it to their left where Goodall nearly bursts through again!

Last tackle now and a good kick pins the Bears in their red zone.

The Bears pick up a penalty for a dangerous tackle and get their first real possession in a loooong time.

Fritz leaps up for a fantastic on his goal line but is forced back inside for a line drop out.

The kick very nearly finds touch but the Bears just keep it in.

Alvaro is down with what looks to be a sever concussion and Wenty are defending with a man down.

They scramble relentlessly and show excellent desperation before forcing an error for a 20m restart!

It is all coming up trumps for Wenty as they find a repeat set from from their kick as O'Daire loses the ball.

The scrum is upgraded to a penalty for back chat.

Now there is a North Sydney player in trouble as he is helped from the field with what looks to be a left ankle problem.

Wenty work it to their right with a nice overs line to Howard but he is taken in a great tackle.

The home team swing it back to their left but a sloppy pass undoes the momentum of the shift. Genuine edge-to-edge stuff for Wenty today as they come back to their right and find Howard once more who pushes over in the corner for a soft try.

That brings up the half century.

The conversion is unsuccessful.

The Bears look for a short kick off with a Sandow-style grubber but Gorman throws himself at the ball and forces an error from the Bears.

Wenty march towards the North Sydney red zone and look to breach their right edge once again but fail to do so. They kick it cross field on the last but Curtis Johnson does very well to take the ball on the full and surge out of the in goals for a tap restart.

Wenty cover his tap well but concede a penalty after some hostilities in the ruck.

Stellar hands and reflexes from Goodall!

He takes the slips catch from his own try line and sets off down field. Johnson (?) gives chase and closes in on him but I reckon Goodall has the pace to get there! He doesn't share the same belief and links up with Pewhairangi who JUST manages to get ball down - to the outrage of the visiting supporters who cried for a knock on.

The conversion is successful.
