Why didn't you just say that in the first place ? Why the sarcasm in every post ? I mean every single post you write. Why do you do it ? You are getting consistently boring.

Could be time for another spell. You need at least a few months this time.

Point taken. I'll be back in the off season.

Moeroa has been playing under 20s so he's either in the top 25 already or he's on a very low amount (no more than about $20k) to fit under the NYC salary cap.

So it will be easy to play him in first grade. He's either already top 25 or he will be easy to fit under the second tier cap. The exception is if he has recently signed an extension that upgrades him this year so that he no longer fits under the NYC cap. In that case he could be on almost $80k which would make it harder to fit him under the second tier cap. But with Loko gone someone will move into the top 25 and if he's played first grade this year then his space will free up under the second tier cap.

Obviously being only 19 this year Moeroa is almost certainly contracted for next year as well, meaning there is less reason for us to offer an upgrade this year (we can upgrade him next year if he won't re-sign without it). Either way we'll know for sure if he plays NYC again this year.

Hope that clears things up.

Or if the coaching staff think he is the goods, they could offer him an up grade now for a top 25 spot now taking loko's spot and giving him an extra years contract. It help us get him signed up early rather getting into bidding war for his services. Might not give us much value this year but could in the next 1-2 years. Wasn't Union pretty keen on getting him.

If we upgrade him for this year then we would (probably) have to upgrade him for next year too. I'm certain we will be upgrading him for next year when we extend him but I don't see why we'd need to offer an upgrade for this year as well. Especially since he's not even playing first grade.

I guess the main reason would be to make best use of the money Loko has freed up. Though I suspect releasing Loko has freed up no money for this year, instead making space for next year.

WTF does that even mean ?
It wasn't that hard to follow...

One post said there shouldn't be any reason to hold young guys back from NRL, and the post that you've had a tanty about simply says that salary cap issues might be a reason why young players don't get fast tracked to frist grade.

But don't let that stop you posting with a lack of humour for all to see.

They also missed Goodall's slip catch and follow up line break that lead to Pewhairangi's second try (and injury) and Moeroa's pearler of a tackle from the kick off.

Played very well. Fed Faraimo quality ball all game and really came into his own in the second half, tearing the right edge of the Bears apart as he made about 3 line breaks as well as setting Pewhairangi up for his second try.

Some cosmetic changes for the Magpies as Maliota movs into the starting front row but most notably, Ryan Matterson is backing up from the NYC!

Ben Smith is also a late inclusion.

Brett Cook Abridged - Happy with how we closed out the game against the Bears. Usual lines about improving each week. Kicking will be key and it was where we excelled last week. Battle between the two packs will be a big one.

Copy & Paste just about any interview really

Wenty, like the NYC squad, will receive the ball in the first half.

Alvaro is driven back in the opening carry of the game but they visitors recover with runs to Maliota and Ma'afu.

Ben Smith brings up the last and Ben Jones hoofs it down field. Decent kick.

Good opening set of defence from Wenty. The Warriors kick from short of half way and their angled kick just has too much zest and rolls dead in goals.

20m restart for Wenty.

Faraimo takes the first run. Alvaro is up next and Ben Fritz carts it out of dummy half afterwards.

Hunt runs the sweeper down the left and links up with Matalele who in turn takes the tackle.

Pewhairangi tries to punch the ball in goals but it is just too heavy and comes back a 20m restart.

Bureta Faraimo is penalised for interfering with the retrieval and the Warriors come up field.

The Warriors make an unforced error to give Wenty a break early in the set.

Neither team has ventured much on the edges yet and as I type this out, Pewhairangi runs it down the left edge short side.

Jones bombs it high on the last and the Warriors defuse it perfectly.

There is a good tackle from Sam Gorman who rushes up and jams hard on a lateral shift but Wenty then concede a penalty to gift the home team attacking possession and territory.
