Fractured my neck yesterday playing a game of footy for Concord Burwood United. Fractured my c7 vertebra or something.

Means i am officially on the retired bench from RL these days
Have lost most of my strength in my right arm and am numb in 3 fingers. Hopefully will get better though but its not guaranteed.

Sorry to hear that mate. I'm not looking forward to the day I hang my boots up. I'm 27 soon, and I've had my final season set down to be the year I turn 35 for a few years now (which'll make it 2016). Don't know whether I'll make it that far though. I'm kinda taking it year by year as of this year.

I don't know how I'll feel a) retiring, and b) being retired once a season starts without me playing.

I had a horror knee and ankle injury which ended my footy career at 19.

I was able to run again fully after almost 20 months, but the knee was always weaker and wouldn't have stood up to League anymore. I took up cricket and almost became very succesful, before the knee played up again.

That was hard enough for me.

Doing the neck, that's 200 times worse. Main thing mate is to not get down about it.
