What a croc. You agreed with everything except ASADA's involvement.

I maintain the public are being duped. You just listed the lies and the people involved. What did you think you were doing?

Stephen Dank sues Cronulla Sharks and Channel Nine over NRL drugs claims

PETER BODKIN
The Daily Telegraph
March 27, 2013 11:17AM

CONTROVERSIAL sports scientist Stephen Dank has launched defamation cases against the Cronulla Sharks and Channel 9 over claims he injected players with illegal drugs.

Dank's lawyers, Cambridge Law, yesterday filed claims in the NSW Supreme Court against both the TV broadcaster and NRL club, whose chairman Damien Irvine was accused of making false statements "to the effect that he injected Sharks players with horse drugs”.

In a media statement this morning, Dank's solicitor Raed Rahal said the claim was that the Sharks club was "legally responsible" for Irvine's words.

Irvine quit his job as the beleaguered club's chairman earlier this month after telling the Sunday Telegraph that Sharks staff had failed to notify the board about illicit drug practices dating back to 2011.

Dank, who worked briefly with the club that year, has denied any wrongdoing - including allegations he gave blood-thinning substance Warfarin to Cronulla players.

"I have done nothing illegal with any club in the NRL," he previously told News Limited.

"All this (doping allegations) upsets me deeply because it is not true. I am not a doping scientist or a cheat."

Dank's lawyers last month issued a statement announcing that he would launch a $10m defamation suit against various media outlets.

"The claims arise out of false allegations in the media that the plaintiffs have sold illegal drugs to sportspeople," the statement said.

The cases against the Sharks and Channel 9 will first be heard in court next month.

What did I say that was a lie?

Same old same old. Splitting hairs again to dodge the issue.

Let's do it this way - here are the four issues that I posted that started you off. What line to you agree with?

You bought the line about the blackest day in Australian Sport?
The evidence of match fixing?
The 150 players on performance enhancing drugs?
The organised crime links?

You are a deadset DROPKICK.

You have not been able to state one fact on this matter, but rant about the government, government agencies and that it is all a blown up witch hunt that will in the end find zero - as far as players' doping, organised crime involvement and match fixing. These supposedly are your facts.

If not, provide the facts as you perceive them - facts, not your opinion.

Name calling and emo-ranting. Do you ever have anything useful to add?

The answer I expected - you have zero.

You are not even asking a question you twit.

You will not convince me that this is anything but a half-arsed investigation and it is clear I am not going to convince you otherwise.

Take comfort being in the category of "some of the people, all of the time".

Easy.

1. No I didn't. And seeing as though it was said by someone who has no connection with the investigation it isn't relevant anyway. So you can't criticise anyone involved in the investigation for it
2. That's an ACC investigation so not relevant to ASADA
3. No. But that was never said either. What was said was that ASADA will interview about 150 players and officails as part of their investigation. If you want to criticise someone off misinformation printed by the media go for it
4. ACC again

Parra, the arguments in here are horribly circuitous all round (pun intended).

You mentioned facts. Do you have any? I'll openly state I don't.
If you have any, share them.
Not opinions, facts. Because if you have any that are compelling and verifiable you'll find plenty, including me, will join the chorus of condemnation.

However in the absence of any facts I'm simply reserving my judgement. My gut feel, based purely on the innuendo, rumour, scuttlebutt and so forth available to all of us here, along with some stuff I've heard privately (again rumour only), leads me to believe we are about to get hit with a massive shitstorm. Not because I want it to be so, I just think it will be the case. It dosen't make me a 'supporter' of the investigative bodies involved.

That I have the opposite opinion to you in that regard goes without saying. However I am fully prepared to recant that opinion if anyone can present some facts to counter it. I say again, I've not seen any, I'm not privy to any.

I asked if you were able to present the facts, in this case, as you know them. That is certainly a question.

I asked you did you agree with the statements.

I didn't ask you to parrot out who said them.

Go wider then - do you agree with Jason Clare's assertions at the initial press conference?
Do you see no relevance in comments from high ranking ex-ASADA staff and office-holders?

I can't remember what Jason Clare said so I can't comment on them but it wasn't "the blackest day in Australian sport" because that was said by Richard Inge. I do think the press conference was a political stunt by Lundy and Clare and do not blame ASADA for it. And no I don't see any relevance in Inge's comments seeing as though this whole investigation started since he left the organisation

If they didn't hold that press conference and just let ASADA do its job, we wouldn't have this mess, Cronulla would not have been pressured to do its own investigation and the media speculation wouldn't have been crucifying people with their guess work.

You guys wouldn't be arguing either.

The cheats would be found if their was/is hard evidence and we would all agree they should be kicked out if they are cheating!

Miller I don't agree. It's the political presence at the press conference that has sullied the whole thing, because it's allowed people to establish an erroneous link between a couple of dumbf**k politicians, the party they represent, and the process. It was an unnecessary presence, and a dumb political move in any event. It's encouraged people to see more into it than is actually there.

However the PC itself isn't an issue, it's holding or not would not have made any difference to media hysteria, rumours, or eventual outcomes.

It's like saying that a government announcement of a pending tsunami made the tsunami worse. It will be what it will be.
