Pretty sure it was reported that it was the bosses of Hawthorn, St.Kilda and Collingwood were there with some head honcho from the AFL.

This was revealed at the same time that James Hird alleged that Collingwood, St.Kilda and Hawthorn were all using 'enhancements' on their players as well.

Seemed rather coincidental that the bosses of those 3 clubs were all together in a hotel in USA.

Maybe they are looking at the US sports that don't subscribe to WADA and how they manage doping outside the WADA system?

yup

you got owned

the investigation is half arsed and even the biased Victorians say that

Owned? Spare me. One journalist says something that suits your agenda and you proclaim it from the roof tops as undeniable fact.

If you want to talk about being owned, go back a couple of pages to where the below exchange took place. That my friend is being owned.

not imo as i've seen Ings tweet about ASADA having to prove what was in the vials Essendon were injected with

Uhm, Ings's tweet mentioned the product alleged to have been used by Watson was compounded not packaged

incorrect

he never said that at all

he has never even seen the vial so there's a reason why he never said that
Isn't this tweet that you provided the link to? Clearly states that it was compunded not packaged. I'd never seen the below quote before, just working off your info El D.
Richard Ings ‏@ringsau 29 Jun
@worldofBG i wouldn't stand Jobe down because you have to prove what was in the syringe was truly AOD9604. It was compounded not packaged.
either way he never saw it
But he did say it.

So has Ings gone from the bastion of truth to just another bullshit artist El D?

I must say I have always been suspicious of Collingwood and other AFL teams journeys to the USA for short term high altitude training.

I am aware of the benefits of such training but it seems so short term that any benefits acquired would be diminished by the flight home and the weeks of sea level training before playing an actual game.

Junket had been booked for a while apparently and if they don't go now, the NFL probably wouldn't entertain them again.

but surely given the seriousness of the situation facing a club, as well as demitrieiueus own alleged tipping off of essendon he'd stay in the country rather than hiding o/s

"The Collingwood president was joined in the US by a delegation that included AFL chief executive Andrew Demetriou and his deputy Gillon McLachlan, two other club presidents, three club CEOs and AFLPA chief Matt Finnis."

So lots of people on said junket.

I am surprised that Andrew D or his deputy (who turned the NRL CEO job down) isn't aroung given the circumstances around the Essendon drug claims. Surely one of them should have stayed behind.

Seems a bit odd that only 5 clubs are being represented on this overseas jaunt.

That's more a commentary on my behalf of how the AFL is run, and not on anything else.

so is the AFL journo delusional too?

I wouldn't want to paint him with that brush based on one article which reasonably points out that the invesitgation would be more complete if it heard Dank's evidence.

However you, not Mark Robinson, have painted the investigation as half arsed. You, not Mark Robinson, have stated that ASADA are winding up the investigation purely to meet the AFL's arbitrary deadline. And you, not Mark Robinson seem intent on telling everyone that the AFL/Essendon are going to get away scot free whilst the NRL/Sharks are going to be screwed over, all without any EVIDENCE to back up your claims.

I like to deal with facts, and the fact is that until the investigation is wound up and the results published, we have no idea what ASADA do or don't know. Just like we have no idea what the punishments (if any) will be on Essendon, the Sharks, or either clubs players. So my plan is to read, listen and wait until its all said and done before I consider condeming ASADA for their investigative failings.

Or we can run around rambling that Vlad and the AFL have ASADA in their back pocket like a bunch of conspiracy theory nutters.

you are wrong on every count

However you, not Mark Robinson, have painted the investigation as half arsed.

TO paraphrase Superman's famous words: This looks like a fight for truth, justice and the AFL's way.

But how can the investigation be completed without testimony from the man at the very heart of its happenings - Stephen Dank?

So much for the exhaustive search for truth in one of the biggest scandals in football history.

Surely, Dank's evidence is crucial.

This investigation cannot be properly completed until he speaks.

If completed before Dank speaks, then it is not a completed investigation.

We love our game, but its integrity cannot be tarnished because the AFL wants it completed before finals start.

As for ASADA, surely you can't ask for greater powers, receive them, and then not use them for its own integrity.

No, the AFL should concern itself with proper process and diligence in collecting all evidence.

Without Dank, it's a compromised investigation.

You, not Mark Robinson, have stated that ASADA are winding up the investigation purely to meet the AFL's arbitrary deadline.

The AFL wants the Essendon drugs investigation completed by August, presumably so it can act - if it has to - before the Bombers embark on a September campaign.

ASADA works hand in hand with the AFL on this one, so we can presume again it is on board.

Seems to talk alot about the investigation being incomplete, but never once says it has been a half arsed investigation. If you get sufficient evidence from the rest of your sources though, does it really matter if one key player wont speak to you though?

Robinson presumes the ASADA is on board with the AFL's August deadline, but you state it as a cold hard fact, which it isn't. More likely, the ASADA has enough evidence with which to move forward.

I notice you left this one alone:

"you, not Mark Robinson seem intent on telling everyone that the AFL/Essendon are going to get away scot free whilst the NRL/Sharks are going to be screwed over, all without any EVIDENCE to back up your claims."

Further to the above, I note the below quote made on July 29th regarding the investigation by the AFL:

"We point out that the investigation has been going for almost six months and now involves over 130 witness interviews."

Does missing one interview, when you've already done 130 really make an investigation half arsed?

Depending on the witness, very possibly yes.

By the way, you do come across as an AFL troll.

Not a cool look bro

what article said they interviewed 130 people re Essendon?

the fact you think not interviewing Dank means nothing proves you are an idiot

FMD he is the sports scientist/biochemist behind all this alleged doping
