The interesting question now is does Cronulla have the finances to drag this out in the courts like Essendon is doing. And then what happens if these 17 players look for somebody to sue.

I dont doubt for a second if it goes down as reported that the players will sue the club and ultimately see the end of the Sharks. I hate seeing clubs go (wish the bears were back) so the whole situation is sad for their fans.

This will be the end of Cronulla. They don't have the money to fight this clearly, and they will once again suffer on the sponsorship front which will only make matters worse. To lose so many big names to lengthy bans and the stigma of being labelled drug cheats will kill their attendance at games dead. They will have to rely on charity from the NRL or the NSW government to stay alive and does anyone really see that happening for a club that has existed for almost half a century and hasn't won a single premiership?

The NRL will go into a board room, around a large table, and weigh up whether it would be better to just tell the Sharks to hit the pasture and send the license over to WA.

Or another brisbane club.

Relocation is a much better option than killing a club. Anyone with any common sense knows that.

So many big names?

John Morris, Retiring
Paul Gallen, big name, end of career
Wade Graham, bigname?!, career ahead of him
Nathan Gardner, reserve grader, off contract
Anthony Tupou, off contract

Yes I can see how we are losing a heap of big name talent.....

Not to mention any legal avenues that are taken by the players will result in a few years worth of law suits and appeals before any monies would be exchanged.

Plenty of time for the rest of those apartments to be sold :)

Stigma - well honestly, can the stigma be any fkn worse than it is now?

Some perspective would be greatly appreciated.

Well who else in your squad would you describe as a big name? Fifita? His career has only just begun. Carney is gone, Feki is a youngster....Every "big" name you guys have you just listed above.

You'll be playing a reserve grade side in first grade by the time this drama is over.

2 players off contract 1 retiring and 1 close to retirement on huge money.

Yeah our salary cap would be in a terrible situation and we would be unable to replace players...:roll::roll:

You think anyone will want to sign with the Sharks if they can't be certain they'll even be paid?

How long will the "Sharks have no money" comment continue to get trotted out?
