NRL Statement on Shane Flanagan
The NRL today announced that it has lifted the suspension of Cronulla Sharks Head Coach Shane Flanagan.
He is free to resume coaching duties at the club immediately.
Head of Integrity, Nick Weeks said Mr Flanagan had satisfied all the conditions required to have his suspension lifted.
These included the completion of a range of training courses and demonstrating he understands the obligations of an NRL head coach.
“The NRL has been impressed with Mr Flanagan’s commitment to meeting the conditions set down for his return,” Mr Weeks said.
“Consequently his suspension is lifted and he can return to coaching duties at any time.”
Mr Flanagan said he was now better equipped and more capable of fulfilling his duties as Head Coach than ever before.
“I have a clearer understanding of the roles and responsibilities of a head coach,” he said.
“That role goes beyond player skills, tactics and game plans – I have a proactive duty to protect the welfare of players and staff and ensure we meet our governance and compliance obligations.
“I now intend to focus on the future and demonstrate that I am the right person to lead the cultural change at the Sharks.
“I am committed to restoring the reputation of the Sharks as a club that everybody in the game can be proud of.”

didn't know Massoud was 7,s new RL reporter https://au.news.yahoo.com/vic/video/watch/26009092/sharks-players-offered-new-deal/
So what's the latest with Essendon, it's gone quiet?
They've had their "show cause" notices issued, of which they had 10 days to respond, before infractions.
I haven't heard what the outcome of that is?

if Essendon players get two weeks, i wonder if there will be retractions from those in the media, who called the suspensions accepted by the Sharks players, as being too lenient?

if essendon players walk away with 2 game bans, or any paltry bans, everyone involved in this "blackest day in sport" debacle should be sacked (if they've already gone they should be re-hired and sacked). they carried on like every player in every code was doping and match fixing and organised crime was involved
The farce continues. Like the druggos in the Shire, the Bombers look to be getting off lightly.

So we got off lightly, I agree....but answer me this...
Hypothetically,
If the punishment we received was perfectly appropriate for the crime (12 month backdated suspensions resulting in only 3 weeks suspension for most), what should the ban be for Essendon players, considering the circumstances of their peptide use?
