I can't fathom how someone like Bill Shorten or anyone else for that matter can say the players are innocent victims in this.

....because their precious suburban game is under attack from some overseas body. This silly game that no one else in the World plays with their 'flag', their silly tight shorts and their short sleeves is absolutely integral to the lives of 99.99% of Victorians.

because AFL and Labor are linked closely

Bill Kelty is an Essendon supporter and former AFL commissioner http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/a...k=3ddcc3aa21ef60dd4df5b0ae4e6888f2-1452581968

the new head of Essendon is a former federal Labor MP

the head of the AFL commission once considered running as a Labor candidate

Sam Mostyn is a former Keating staffer and current AFL commissioner

I'm pretty sure you could find similar links with Victorian Libs and AFL ( Jeff Kennett and Hawthorn comes to mind)

It's just your typical Victorian mindset - promote, protect and defend Fumbleball at all times...

if Labor wins the next election then government funding to AFL won't be cut if they abondon WADA http://www.smh.com.au/federal-polit...-fault-says-bill-shorten-20160112-gm42j8.html

Labor tried to get them off in the first place and let Cronulla cop it all

AFL and Labor are as corrupt as each other

Didn't AFL push for that ASADA press-conference back in 2013 in the hope that the NRL was going to wear the brunt of the alleged peptides use? Often wondered why Cronulla got hammered in the media whilst Essendon had a saloon passage until recently when WADA decided to appeal the AFL's ruling on giving Essendon players a not-guilty verdict.

That's what I thought too, Mad.

Like giving a kid a soft punishment, they'll keep doing something & stretching the boundaries.

If they got a good "whack on the arse", they would think twice.

The irony of a Cronulla fan talking about lenient penalties for drug use lol.

wtf are you on about :?

dumb racist git

You know, blue rinse, what I'm on about.

Good to see the AFL get exactly what they deserved and yeah WADA should enforce the punish the club rule - over 4 or 5 players club suspended from the comp.

We took our medicine even though the situations were similar but different.

Essendon refused & now they cop it.

I don't think their penalty is harsh, they have suffered a lot already, like we did...which you do seem to forget.
