Imagine how different BM's view would be if it were souffs players rather than Cronulla players under the pump...

Of Course the ASADA case is weak. why would they offer this deal if they had strong evidnce. In the end the players chose not to lose money in fighting. They should not cry if they get booed or called drug cheats

The show ain't over, kids.

It seems WADA hasn't even looked at the details yet and John Fahey is urging them to go to CAS and appeal:

Perhaps when he sees their "evidence" or lack there of, he will shut the f**k up!

They got away with this. If players were prepared to fight them for a couple of years at great expense to themselves, it is unlikely ASADA would win.

This bloke was a shit politician and is an equally shit administrator.

If ASADA didn't run their offer past WADA before making the offer, they are more incompetent that they've already shown.

I would think if WADA overrules, the players will recant their admission claiming it was made under duress (which it was) and will then contest the charges all together. The only thing WADA should do upon review would be to send a team into ASADA and review all their processes and make changes to maintain what ever integrity it has left after the massive breaches of its own Act as aired in the Essendon case and whats transpired since the 'blackest day in aus sport' was grandstanded.

Its my understanding the players were told it was all above board. Hence my points in this thread.

If players KNEW it was illegal and took it then 2 years minimum from now. The whole point is they did not.

well let the players sue the club.............but they still get banned.

like i said in most countries they'd get at least a year maybe 2 year ban.....not a year back dated plus 6 week

They shouldn't get any ban, they've done nothing wrong, those peptides were legal in 2011, and they were given by a doctor or someone with medical qualifications; you have to have some trust in the ppl you are working with, this is a sport, not a self-centred individual pursuit like athletics and swimming.

are we forgetting the fact that this nightmare has impacted these individuals lives for near on two years?

lets not forget the unprecedented breach of privacy in the whole investigation where the public should not have known anything about this case until infraction notices were handed down

untold stresses and mental health impacts

12 months back dated for a f**ked up investigation that completely disregarded player welfare and became a shake the tree witch hunt played out in the media depending heavily on self incrimination as opposed to hard evidencence...

yeah i think the back dated part fits

Schlonger completely misses the point that the players didn't test positive to anything

I think you are spot on there as to why the suspensions are backdated.

You have a point IF the players are innocent.

IF they took/were given performance enhancing/banned substances then I have little sympathy for their plight. Drug cheats deserve it.

I suspect my opinion as to their guilt/innocence differs to yours, and to be honest, given the varying levels of information out there, everyone is really only making a semi informed decision either way.
