Piss Gidley off and have Lewis take the utility role.

You can then pick one of the other backrowers in the starting lineup.

Lewis can cover so many positions competently, it is a no brainier.

With Daley at the helm, not the best option. Let's hope a few fired-up players, some form, a bit of luck and two home games can push us over the line. All that stood between a series win last year was a field goal.

Reynolds from Canterbury seems ideal for the bench utility spot IMO. What does Gidley bring, apart from goalkicking, that's better than what Reynolds does every week? Defense?

Jack Wighton for the utility interchange role as he can cover wing, centre and 5/8. An outstanding talent with strong defence.

A year early for Jacky Wighton but how about Blake Ferguson? One on one all he does is bath his opposition centre.

Reckon Hayne has made a case for Fullback, can't see Stewart stopping tries like Jarryd did tonight, he has learnt.. Which leaves a wing spot, Uate, Fergo, Gordon, many contenders I like Edrick.

Edrick in a couple years, seems a little green still but they've definitely picked worse. Reece Robinson is nsw right? He's definitely ready. In fact should be automatic.

We don't need a utilty. It's only worth playing one when they are almost specialist at being a utility. Not because they have played a few different positions at club level. Just because we had someone like Craig Wing, doesn't mean we have to force someone else to be.
I could maybe see Josh Reynolds being like that in the future. But while we have Farah who is playing out of his skin right now, taking him off would be nothing but bad.

Daniel Tupou is a gun, almost a NSW equivalent of Edrick Lee. Probably more Israel Folau though. He will come into contention in 2014 and beyond.

Ferguson > J Morris.

J Morris is only getting the BOTD because he contained Inglis relatively well last year. He's a left side specialist and while he does defend well on the right, he looks too disjointed with the ball in attack.

Ferguson is big and strong enough to stop Inglis and I've always thought his reads in D are good. He's a right side specialist and offers much more of a threat with the ball.

Don't understand why there isn't a bigger push for Hayne to fullback, which back line seems more dangerous?

1. Stewart
2. Hayne
3. Jennings
4. Morris
5. Morris

Or

1. Hayne
2. Merritt
3. Jennings
4. Morris
5. Morris

That's pretty much the best back-line we can conjure. It's not equal to QLD's but it's not significantly weaker either. Different types of players in each position in comparison. That's a top quality back line.

Have a think about what Stewart has done in origin, then have a think about what Hayne has done. Which player do you want seeing more ball?

After watching Ferguson today, well I'd say he should play for NSW this year. On the right with Uate, Morris and Morris on the left, Hayne at fullback.

Tariq Sims on the right too. Bird on the left, Lewis at loose-forward, Paul Gallen starting off the bench, Farah the captain.

He is starting to look very good isn't he. I agree. Would love to see him there.
