The same reason black people are allowed to call each other n****r. It's all about the intent, and a white person calling another person white is hardly a racial attack. I'd be more inclined to think they were performing a racist parody of a PoC.

Either way, the law is the law. A cop just trying to do his job gets verbally attacked all the time. It's even more insulting when it's some privileged millionaire who's just befouled some poor merkin's taxi. Sam Kerr thought she was big enough to get away with a hate crime. Keen to find out if she was right.

Video footage was damning against cops and stadium security, for fans who were just returning to their seats with valid tickets after pre-arranged tifo arrangements. It never needed to, nor should it have, ever come to this. But here we are.

That the cops were "wrong" doesn't absolve the RBB members of their wrongdoings or the RBB collective of their childish abandonment of support for their team, imo.
