Yes, he is a true striker and his record couldn't prove it more.
Last night, - 3 chances, 3 goals. And he wasn't a wanker about it to go with it for a change. He was brilliant!!!
I just watched the replay.
Wanderers clearly outplayed them, and played some beautiful football for the most part of the game, yet, and this is Popovic's challenge atm, they/we do not have the cattle atm to finish a game off.
We are weak at the back and we are weak at the front. Everything else is ok.
Popovic MUST take some blame for such a high turnover of players every season. Clearly, the owners are tight arses and will not spend big on marquees, unlike the Russian owners of ESFC, or the Melchester City or Victory consortiums.
You cannot rebuild a new squad every year on a minimal budget and expect premium returns. I was told yesterday that the Wanderers have underspent the salary cap by $500 k's this season. It's clearly obvious. I was also told that there was $20 k difference between keeping Andreu and losing him. We chose to lose him. This is not so much a reflection on Popa, but what restraints he might be under as a manager. Not a good thing.
In saying that, 3 Grand Finals in the first 4 seasons defies the logic that he should be sacked so I'm prepared to give him the January transfer window to correct a few poor purchases and right the wrongs.
I'm also prepared for the club to be a bit tight in finances atm considering that the club themselves are currently spending millions of their own money to build a Centre of High Excellence at Blacktown.
I haven't heard the current douche bags calling for Popovic's sacking, also calling for BA's sacking, due to even less success.
I believe BA is a Popa clone. Both of them are great for their respective clubs. Not like that douche bag Arnold. If anything goes wrong, the excuses come out. As for Popa and BA, they both protect their players and club. I'm proud of both of them as the leaders of both the teams I follow.
