Probably a bit late for Vukovic. He is 31. I wonder how many offers he got from overseas through his career? Countries like Belgium and the Netherlands have no foreign player limits, meaning you don't need to be a star to get recruited. Normally foreign quota slots are reserved for the best players the club can find.

True - forgot about Vukovic's age.

I think Australia needs Ryan to get regular game time - he isn't at his best, the the moment, and we really need him at his best.

If his form drops it's likely he will get replaced in the national team. Flange Postecoglou can't force Valencia to play him and neither can he force Ryan to go to a weaker club (perhaps for less money). All he can do is pick the best keeper on match day.

A lot of keepers now days get judged on their distribution as it can help setting up attacking opportunities. I do think its an important string in their bow.

It is, and I see the value.

But I'm old fashioned - I believe a keeper's priorities should be shot-stopping, and marshalling the defence.

I think Ryan's shot-stopping has declined in the last 18 months or so.

Its a bit like keeping in Cricket, they assume you can keep but you get judged on your batting.

Same thing here, they assume you are a shot stopper and judge you on your distribution.

I would have thought you flog the cheap seats last minute.

Unless the strategy is to get me on to the ticketek website with the intention of buying $15 seats, only to find that they are so shit that I decide to pay $30/40/50 for a decent view.

That'd be your choice. And of course the $15 seat aren't going to be category A.

Are the $15 seats only the yellow bit on the seat map? ... ie the nose bleeds

Looking at the seating map......probably. They're always the hardest seats to sell. Even if only 1000 fans take up this deal, it still might have been 1000 more than what they would have got.
Clearly they aren't going to get another 61000 to this game due to the Wanderers table position, so to run a marketing campaign to flog a few cheap seats is just "Marketing 101".

And, lol at the size of the alchohol free bay.

Agree, cracking games tonight.

Well done Wanderers, Popa must be happy with his team finally getting up for 3 points.
