That the voice will sow division because it grants a certain privilege based on race, that others will not have.

Or even that the referendum itself, is by its nature divisive.

Neither need be true, it is only how folks perceive it that makes it true, and I think that the entire argument has come from ignorance and / or racism. Which is not to say that in making or believing that argument it makes you either, because I do think people of good will can still have those concerns, it's just when you strip it down, as Langton said, that's where you land.

And the reason it lands there is because it's based upon a lie, one that merkins have been running for decades, that despite the very obvious disadvantage and outcomes for so many indigenous folk, that they are already somehow privileged with all the stuff they get handed that we whiteys don't get.
