OT - Moving to the shire advice needed

I’m an old Engadine boy, Achilles Rd. Was running around the bush up till the age of 9 or 10 and then they built the Olympic pool in that bush area. Played soccer for the Eagles and cricket for the Dragons.

Then got married, lived in Gymea while working in the city, then bought our first house in Heathcote for $299K down near the scout hall in 2000. Sold up in 2007, got $470k for the house and bought in Barden Ridge for $590K which is now worth $1.2m.

Always a Shire boy.

Never thought we’d live out this way but I love it. Plenty of schools and shops, 10 mins to the train line.

Happy days.

You haven't tried to sell recently have you? Property in the shire has gone off a cliff.

Hey, what year did you finish?

I lived in Vanuatu until age 14. WENT TO JANNALI BOYS IN 1983 (YEAR 9)...
Then moved to Brisbane, then Bathurst, then Vanuatu again, now back in Brissie.

My parents still live in Sydney - Revesby. My Grandfather lived at Bexley (Rockdale) - Dragons life member (until he died last year - aged 99 and 11 months (I kid you not!))...

Jannali High boy here as well, started year 7 in 1985.

Well Shire friends... Thanks for all the advice. I just picked up our forever home in Caringbah South. Honestly the Sharks had nothing to do with the move(value for money was just off the charts compared to other areas).

Will be strange to be a "local" in the shire after 15 years or so of driving down to games.

Advice, you want advice.

Don't attend any home games where we are up against the Hartleys from Brookvale.

Save your dosh and invest it at the Cazbah.

Sounds sus as
Haha, where r your kids at?! That does sound sus!

Mine are at Lilli Pilli which was why I’m asking and it’s a great primary school. Also at Woolooware high which i was a bit worried about but has been really good for the eldest (though a much more mixed bag of teachers).

I was your Sat morning paper boy
Geez.
I was at 445 Port Hacking rd.
You were probably ours as well.
I went to C'bah infants when it was separate from the primary school. I left through '76.
Frenz did you know the Sails? (Sp) they were family friends of ours. There were a few others in Jellicoe that we knew, I'll try and remember their names. It was a long time ago, and I was 7 when I left.

When I think of value for money, Caringbah is not one of those places.

Welcome mate.
