OT - OTHER GAMES 2023

There are two teams I cannot stand
The Dogs and the Cowboys.
On a bye week watching those two lose on the same day is like having a win.
And the Broncos can't stand them.

I wouldn't mind seeing this miced up thing they used on Carrigan, on Finucane during Warriors here what is was telling.
Actually on most of our senior players

My Daughter cares not for sport, but I have three nieces, one an Eel, one a Rooster and one a Balmain Tiger.

They all know f**k Manly.

An Angry education is good.

Had half an eye on the game and it looked like the refs were doing their best to get the cows up. Good win by the fins

Highlights:

Chad’s perfectly timed ball to Nikorima - who was on the opposition team.

Val making multiple mistakes.

Frenzy.

not sure what’s wrong with the cowboys. Almost an identical side to last year and they look horrendous
Perhaps the World Cup is a contributor to not only Cows but all the 2022 Top 4 teams.

As it stands at the time of writing this last years top 4 sit here on the ladder

7. Penrith (13)
13. Sharks (7)
14. Cowboys (7)
15. Eels (7)

Taking only into account Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, Samoa and Tonga the top 4 supplied a minimum of 34 players to the Worl Cup. Minimum because I can't be bothered counting who played in the minnow teams.

These teams obviously played more games in 2021 as well.

Others with big representation have fared better obviously. Souths come to mind as they supplied 11 players to those 5 teams mentioned.

The World Cup certainly seems to have produced some over confidence in some players too.

cough, cough........ Ronnie & Jeremiah

I've done a breakdown of the "World" Cup, and even created a pie chart which shows percentage of players contributed from each competition, but have lost my site functionality again so can't upload it (I think from using mobile while away).

Excluding Aus, NZ and England squads, here it is:

NRL players - 32%
ESL players - 27%
NSW/Qld Cup players - 6%
3rd tier or lower Australian players - 6%
NZ 2nd tier players - 2%
Other players (plucked from seemingly anywhere to fill the squads) - 10%
Actual country of representation - 10%

Out of the 286 players in the other squads, only 30 actually play in a competition in the country they are representing.

108 come from either NRL or NSW/Qld Cup, throw in the 48 who would have represented Australia/NZ and we are looking at a total of 156 players to come from Australia, the equivalent of a little over 9 NRL teams on game day.

It's a pharquing joke.

It's like the players rock up for training on day one of a World Cup year and are handed a show bag.
Then they reach inside to pull out the jersey of the nation they'll be representing. It's an absolute farce, and an embarrassment to constantly hear commentators refer to players as "the Italian international". Say it when it actually means something.

Anyway, I got that off my chest.
Rant over... 😂

The world cup takes effect I have been listening from the soccer world cup yes happened mid season but players coming back not in same condition.

It takes effect on teams.
I think the other thing has been the new concussion rule, seeing players missing more games it was another change by NRL that needs adjustment
