are normal people allowed to walk around on the fields? and let their dogs crap on them?

Wow, we're training on a half sized field and the Hawks are looking to have two fields (one MCG sized and one Etihad stadium sized). Goes to show we have a long way to go in our facilities planning.
Wow!! They train on two fields and still have the hand eye co ordination of steady Eddie.http://mobile.news.com.au/sport/afl...ility-in-dingley/story-fndv8os9-1227380202305

The difference with AFL is that every ground is a different size so every match is played with different conditions. NRL is played on the exact same size field in every match.
Why would an NRL team need two fields?

Jarryd Roughead. LOL
Then wouldn't an AFL team just need a full-size field and some chalk?
Interesting. I hadn't considered the possibility of irregular-shaped fields. I thought you just grabbed a kid out of one of the better maths classes and got him to do you an oval.I don't believe there is such a thing as an official AFL size field. My guess is that the boundary is a certain way in from the fence at each ground (health and safety regulations) and that is the only requirement.
There is often talk that Sydney is advantaged at home because they play on a smaller field at the SCG than anywhere else.
So...you have to train for the conditions you are about to encounter. It's not as if on a rugby league field you are going to put a set play on for different pitches because you have more or less room, as the playing surface is always the same size. I even believe that NRL in-goals these days are the exact same size.

What are you saying, that you thought that all AFL fields were the same size?
It was going to happen but now the Wanderers came f**king last it's not.
Thanks
