The average amount of Commonwealth Government taxation per person fell by 6% from $12,793 in 2008–09 to $12,053 in 2009–10. Total state, territory and local government taxes per person averaged $2,976 a year in 2009–10, an increase of 5% compared with 2008–09.

I would much prefer to be paying higher interest rates, (although they werent high compared to the commie/ labors rates 17.5% of the 1980's) if it meant I had a prosperous economy, a well paying job & the ability to not get my house repossessed.
What is the use of low interest rates if reposession rates are at their highest in Australian history.

Now let me get this right - who did end up winning the 2010 election and who governed.

Now we are 10months out... so lets just compare some apples with apples..

(if it was a horserace - maybe just maybe you could call it a form guide for a race that finishes in 10 furlongs)

Ohhhh and the Mums back to school schoolkid allowance going out this week and again in June ... The Mums just love that - access to their tax entitlements without producing receipts.

June 30th end of the financial year. Increase to $18,000 for the Tax Free Threshold + plus ongoing low interest rates... The Punters will love that.
