Lose the Unions, everybody wins. Pretty simple stuff really. Why should qantas , pay its staff, to pay unions.

Just heard the teachers are striking again because they won't accept a lower than inflation payrise.
They are being offered 2.5%.

Striking teachers affects hundreds of thousands of kids and families, and they seem to happen every month............

I dunno gangsters. I just can't help thinking if the demands were as reasonable as described above, and whats more, would be upheld by any reasonable person test, then why are they being rejected? Something missing in the story here, and I suspect it's got to do with job guarantees and redundancy terms that are tied up with the pay increase. I agree with Quigs is some ways. Need all the facts here!

If the company knocks all these requests back, and undergoes extreme industrial action, it opens the door for a massive shake up of the companies structure (i.e moving offshore). That's been the agenda all along.

Seriously?????
Sarcasm escaped you??

You think the qantas engineers strike more than teachers??

Seriuosly???? are you
Sarcasm.....none intended.

Where did I say qantas engineers strike more than teachers?
I think you should check your facts before making rash statements...no malice intended.

My point was that teachers strike alot more than aircraft engineers.
Sorry I didn't provide exact times.

I don't think my statement was rash.
Teachers went on strike for a couple of hours today to discuss when they were going on strike next.
Goodluck to them, they deserve better than a 2.5% increase.

So do aircraft engineers.

I'm just passing time - with a bit of background noise so to speak.

Im streaming in the Qantas Senate Inquiry ....

how is this little snippet,

‘Why didn’t you stop selling tickets when you grounded the aircraft.’
---

‘We forgot about that.’

Here are some interesting comments I am picking up from the poll bludgers forum...

-------------------------------------------

Qantas continued selling tickets by mistake and sent an email of great importance with the wrong date stamp?
What a bunch of incompetent fools
or
What a bunch of con men

---------------------------

Now, about those 2000 rooms booked in LA.

--------------------------------------
Joyce: he alone made the decision to ground everything on saturday morning. saturday morning. everything was in place and the trigger pulled in one morning. The morning of the day the grounding would work.

Yes Joyce, there is a Santa Clause

---------------------------------------------

joyce admits the planning had gone on for weeks, but somehow it became urgent on the Saturday of CHOGM. He says they grounded the airline at the “best” time for passengers. On a weekend before the Melbourne Cup? Pull the other one.

Joyce destroyed those questions today. Bob Brown is such a f@ckwit, was good to see him made a fool.

Who is your money on to replace the Mad Monk Dr No....

I reckon that two faced bastard Morrison might be firming in the odds.

Two years out from the next erection.

Margin in Last 4 Newspolls: 18, 16, 14, 8.

Margin in last 4 Morgan PHONE Polls: 22; 14; 11; 3.

Looks like Dr Noooo is running out of phones to pick up.

Oh and yes Qantas. Me thinks some of the evidence by the workers today will find their way into the mainstream Murdoch meejah....

What them stressed out radical pilots and them thar radical cabin crew. Oh and the pre booking of 2000 hotel rooms in LA, and some in Singapore. Yes-sir-ee Bob, Qantas has been Joyced well and truly

I think quigs & the rest of Australia shoud stop worrying about who the leader of the opposition is(or as is commonly known, the next coalition prime minister) & start worrying about who is the actual leader of the country right now. The welsh unionist leso? The whiny little capatilist in sheeps clothing Harry Potter look alike? Doug cameron on behalf of the Unions? Bob Brown on behalf of halfwits? Combet on behalf of scum & slime? Who is it?
