Would it make any difference if the asylum seekers were caucasian Christians fleeing tyranny? Plenty of blonde hair and blue eyes

Gees I wonder if Ashby wishes he had his time over again?
The staffer who has accused the Speaker, Peter Slipper, of sexual harassment says he should not be forced to give any evidence which may show that he committed a criminal offence.
The Federal Court this morning heard James Ashby may be referred to the Australian Federal Police for investigation into whether he committed any crimes when he allegedly gave extracts of Mr Slipper's diary to a journalist and a political rival.

Mr Ashby's barrister, Michael Lee, SC, said his client had a common law right to claim a privilege against self incrimination.

dont bring simmo into it

but to answer your question, no.

I think it would. I think Scotty Morrison would be down there on the shore as head of the welcoming committee.

Simmo meantime is too busy managing his new host of friends on facebook.

No why would you think that? You answered the question 'NO' so I am assuming your stance has nothing to do with race or religion and purely based on other reasons.

But I believe the general tone of a lot of those who vehemently oppose boat people in this country would be softened if the refugees were Christians and more so if Caucasian.

You obviously don't agree. That's fine.

those that know me well enough would laugh their head off at that suggestion
That's good.

becasue you highlighted my answer 'no', then you said "I think it would" make a difference if they were caucasian.

that was why i questioned the inferrence toward me

all good.

Just a direct reference to the pertinent word, being 'no' , in your reply.

I will however always maintain public opinion would alter some percentage points if the scenario I mentioned was fact.

TAXPAYERS fork out up to $1 million to rescue people smuggling boats that issue distress calls off Indonesia.

People smugglers have ramped up the "SOS" tactic and have been calling for help even when vessels are seaworthy and underway.

On Tuesday, the Childers responded to another distress call but the boat showed "no visible signs of distress".

The cost of border protection operations has risen dramatically since 2009.

Another three boats carrying 153 "probable illegal immigrants" have arrived at Christmas Island in the past three days taking the tally so far this year to 5723 people on board 78 boats. Since the last election in June 2010, a total of 210 boats have arrived carrying 13, 825 people.
If big red wasn't so stubborn, maybe she would really attempt to find some common ground with the coalition to solve the problem

But no, she wants to be stubborn and blame them rather than work with them on a solution. (the little committee she formed is being laughed at by her own supporters).

Each boat arrival is another tick against them at the next election.

Haha - and she is too pig headed to see it - taxpayers are copping it enough without her contributing from stubbornness.

Alan Jones, ........... I thought the boat people problem would be the least of your worries, after the hit after hit after hit you have taken with the cost of carbon pricing.

Did the telecrap print the response from the Head of IGA supermarket chains after the Rabbott and Bishop were in one of their shops in SA. You know the one where it was on every news in Aus.

"No Whyalla, No Whyalla, there on my Tee Veeee"

At the end of the day quigsy, we all know which party is in govt, and failing to resolve the issue of the boats. The best of cartoons can't detract from that fact.

As for the carbon pricing, who can read the result in the first 10 minutes of a match. Let's wait until the first quarter to see what the public thinks when the increased costs are in print.

Whyalla - tell me quigsyyyyyy, how much financial assistance is the govt flicking them?

Yuh iz wot yuh izz, wot yuh izz, wot yuh izz.

Everyone is now realising that the Carbon Price will have little or minimal increases.

Just like fuel goes up and down. The GST was a lot lot higher.

But yuh izz wot yuh izzz.
