Well, I thought I've been quite clear in my posts which have been ignored

Pete, the double standard isnt about whether you think Tim Smith can play or not.
It's about you labelling the guy a dickhead, berating him for his off field incidents - yet cutting the Raiders and Joel Thompson slack, giving them the benefit of the doubt, innocent until proven guilty, because you know their side to the story - considerations you wont give Tim Smith even though only know the media story.....
The Parramatta Eels Holy Trinity.
God the father = Colonel;
God the Son = Suity
God the Holy Ghost = Fishy
Parra Pete = The DEVIL......
It still doesn't detract from the fact that Tim Smith can't play....
Suity, do YOU want Smith back at the Club, with his baggage, and do you consider Tony Zappia the right bloke to be a CEO, given his 'success' at the Sharkies, and other 'things' alleged to have taken place.
I am VERY comfortable being a friend of Joel and his dad. No problems whatsoever. NONE.
I am very comfortable with my friends and contacts in the game. I am very happy with how much Press I can get from them, and the number of doors it has opened for me and my little football Club and community.
If that makes me a hypocrite, then so be it. If it makes me having double standards then I plead guilty. If it makes people on here think I am an attention seeker - that's their problem not mine. I know who I am, I know what I can achieve, and I am thankful that people trust me and are confident in their dealings with me. I don't think I have let anyone down. AND depite what you think of me or my personality, I get more enjoyment out of setting and achieving goals than anything else.
BTW....Do you tell the good Lord how you feel about journo's. Confess, Suity, it will get a load off your mind.
Are YOU comfortable with what I see are your double standards.
Be yourself, be true to yourself. Say what you think, and think what you say....

Pete, as I said in one of my posts you seemed to ignore, your loyalty is a commendable thing. It's a terrific trait in a person.
An even better trait is to treat all people the same, not to cast one set of morals on someone you know, and another on someone you dont.
You stick by Joel Thompson and his family because you know them and you know more about what happened. That's great - and I mean that. Innocent until proven guilty you said. Very true.
Why won't you cut Tim Smith that same benefit of the doubt? Do you know the inside story? Do you know his family? Or are you making a moral judgement based on what you've read?
:?
I dont think you're the devil Pete. I just see a double standard - and that's something most people are guilty of at some point in time.
First and foremost re Tim Smith - it is my opinion the kid can't play. And I don't think I am the only person who thinks along those lines. I was told by one of the Eels greats, and I don't think I am breaking a confidence, that he is of the same opinion. The bloke is a passenger when work needs to be done - Rugby League involves more than just passing and kicking. If you don't tackle, someone else has to cover for you.
Smithy has had more starts than Commission Red, and still comes up short.
I will give him the benefit of the doubt regarding his off-field behaviour as a person. I will take with a grain of salt what was posted on the Wigan Warriors Fans page about him, because I don't know if he was actually mooning and flashing, as it is just hearsay posted on another forum by supposedly Wigan fans. I find it hard to believe that fans of his current Club would think that he is not a Superstar. After all he has been terrific for them in recent weeks after a season and a half of acclimatisation. He has wonderful vision in the twenty metres, and he still knows where to hide when tackling is on.
If the Club is looking to sign him as a player it has more money than sense.
If it is looking to sign him as Club Chaplain - or role model for the younger players - he could be the MAN------IF you are prepared to cut him some slack.
i'm assuming pete's ego doesn't let him admit that maybe he's got a double standard in calling out tim smith on his behaviour all these years when he knows nothing of the kid or his incidents ... cos that would of course be admitting he's wrong about something
Just off the subject a bit, does anyone know where Damian Kelly, the former Eels Media Manager is working these days?
Fishy, do I have to say Mea Kulpa, Mea Kulpa. Mea Maxima Kulpa, and whip my back for daring to think that a bloke's public track record...i.e the known and published facts - suggests that he is an obvious dickhead, just because I have a friend who has pleaded NOT GUILTY to an alleged assault, and is still awaiting his day in court to defend it.
Mate, IF Joel is found guilty, I will say he, too, is a DICKHEAD...But I'll bet he'll learn from the error of his ways and won't find himself in any further trouble down the track.
BTW... Speaking of double standards, has anyone heard how (the predicted Eels new CEO) Tony Zappia got on with his little incident at the Sharks.

EGO is not a Dirty word....
Here comes the TAG team (or is it the Magic Circle Club)......Where's Stagger!!!!!!
Enough fun for today...I'm off to mow the lawn and throw a line in to see if I can catch anything. The river is UP at the moment, and the fish are biting.
Aahhh that's the life.
