If only I had one tenth Timmah's forum greatness...

if only...

in all seriousness, it appears Henjack is fairdinkum about using him and there's some pretty good footage of him during sprint training, goodluck to him, i hope he makes a fair fist of it and proves a few people wrong but in saying that I'm more than happy with who we've got on board atm.

 Please no...

How about we start one OT ex-Eels thread, and dump any talk/articles about the ongoing careers of ex-Eels in there? People who are interested can look, and people who no longer care about Tim Smith and the like can avoid threads getting bumped years after they walked away from being an Eel.

Couldn`t agree more. I`ve always thought that all this Tim Smith talk was a bit of a slap in the face for the halves that we have - and that included Keating when he was half.
By the way; I wonder if Craig Field fostered so much forum discussion. He was more talented than Tim Smith. I just don`t understand why Smith gets this much attention.

As mentioned previously, if Timmy can get into that space where he is no longer self-conscious of his game, he will demolish all defenses before him. He is a nightmare that will revisit all Eels fans. He is the ONE player that we should never had let go of when we had the opportunity to get him back into our fold.

Having said that..... the Eels will still win the 2010 premiership due to an overall team effort that has grown an extra leg since the 2009 GF.

The best years are in front of Timmy. I still work hard behind the scenes to get him back to the Eels sooner rather than later... Are you listening PO & DA????? Get him back quick smart......

Tbh a Timana Tahu special shoulder charge will send Tim back into his shell...:p

I rated Timmy's abilities when he was on song, but I say this without any bias - I would take Keating (I haven't seen enough of Morts at this stage to comment) over Timmy any day. KK has tenacity, a will to win, a fantastic never-say-die attitude and he is not half bad with the ball in his hands.

KK WILL win a Premiership with us. I know it. It will be a team effort, obviously, but this kid is something special.

If Timmy gets back into that space where he is no longer self-conscious of his game he will have EYE-BALLS of consciousness like Wally Lewis, Peter Sterling, Andrew Johns, Alan Langer had.... when they were playing in that space of brilliance, not self-conscious of their game....

In that space Timmy will not get smashed by anyone.

It's up to Timmy and those around him now to inspire his footy game back into that space where brilliance shines like none other. If he achieves this with the Broncos, many a team will be decimated by his brilliance. A huge powerful, intimidating forward pack will help his cause tremendously.

Ross may have been purged Peter but the new brains trust of Daniel Anderson, Paul Osborne, Rod Reddy and the many ex Eels greats now involved, will create such an environment for the Superstar that Timmy really is to shine once again. It's never too late unless Timmy has given up being with the Eels anymore.

The Broncos pack? They've lost Dave Taylor, are set to lose Joel Clinton and I have read some of their second-rowers are not in favour...Their pack is hardly spectacular.

I don't think we should compare Timmy to the greats of the game, either - pretty sure I recall Joey schooling him a few seasons back...

I agree with everything you say Eelementary. The Broncos pack has a huge ? mark over it and Timmy is still to prove that I am right in what I have written about his potential. Lets see what comes..

I`ll go one better, Eelementary: I`d have Jeff Robson ANY DAY over Smith.

Or Jason Ferris?

Or Robert Foster.
(Played half-back for Parramatta East Primary School four stone-sevens in 1966.) I played outside him at five-eight and never got the ball, because Robert would just get the ball out of the scrum and run around the entire opposition team! Consequently our backline didn`t need to run much.)
We still had fun though.
