everyone has their own oppinion about tim smith, but the mans kicking game, or his kicking game in 2005 - 2006 was unbelievable, he knew what he was doing and set the plays perfect, i think 2005 he had the top try assists in the game,i think Tim smith keeps coming up over Glen morrison John Morris and Paul Stringer is because he is a halfback, and parramatta havent had a decent halfback since sterling,(and people thought Smith was the new sterling) yes he had troubles, and yes not all fans liked him, but man, give the bloke a break, people are saying he choked in trhe 2005 finals series, but woah, who wouldnt playing a big game like that, confidence comes with experience, and its something he could have gained, and you will all see that when he comes back to NRL he will be more experienced with finals games, and will prove all you haters wrong about how good he can play, dont under-estimate this man, he is a top notch player, who just had some bad luck, give him a second chance! because he will come to prove you wrong.

I had to add some commas, full stops and capitals so I could work out what you are trying to say. If you believe what you have posted, good on you, Stick to your guns.

Me, I don't believe it, but then again, that's just me. I'm not infallible. I've been wrong before, and I'll be wrong again.
"Just remember -Temora never comes" Josh McCrone one of Temora's own, is, in my opinion, a better player than Timmmmmmmmmmy.
As you have probably worked out, I am not a Tim Smith fan..but I don't hate the bloke..just don't rate him as a player of NRL quality. Had his opportunity and blew it...Next please.....

Agreed. I didn't read it because the presentation was appalling.

I've been wrong before, and I'll be wrong again.

That's great pete. Now all you have to learn, is to admit it at the time, when you actually ARE wrong. It will be a great leap forward for you, believe me.

Sorry ele but it's very annoying seeing Tim Smith threads almost 2 years after he left us. Were are all the John Morris, Paul Stringer, Glenn Morrison threads? it's really f**king annoying to come on here in the off season in 2009 and people bitching about Tim Smith, so f**king what if someone doesn't rate him? does it make people feel good about themselves constantly digging up Tim Smith threads? Tim was a great player for us, he led us well - and was our best half in 20 years.

Tim provided great service whilst with us, more so then any half in the past 20 years ( yes, he was our best half in 20 years - facts! ) he has had some personal issues, which some find amusing to poke sh*t at ( hopefully they get some sh*t comming their way in their lives so we can make threads and joke and laugh about it, and i will be the first one, couldn't give a sh*t ), he has been injured, and tbh he seems to lost his way, it happens with many people his age.

I find it ironic that some on this board defend players commting acts such as belting girls, taking drugs and getting caught, drink driving, Tim never had 1 incident of a criminal offense, he was a brillant player for us.

Will Tim recover? who knows, he has his demons to struggle with.

Yes myself, i'm always up for a giggle and a laugh at a Hagan, Cayless etc, but this is beyond the joke, 2 years has gone past and threads are continuley been brought up for no reason relevent to us.

He's gone, forget about it, and just remember the good times he provided for us.He loved Parramatta - and people like that are always welcome to me regardless if they're sh*t or not - i may give sh*t to Burt and Cayless now and then, but at the end of the day, away from the gags they love the place, and believe it or not when they leave it will be a sad day for us as their best moments far out way their bad moments!

He is not here anymore, but whatever anyone says about Tim Smith, I always enjoyed watching him play. When he had the ball 20 metres out from the try line, you knew anything was possible. Gee he set up some great tries with his kicking and passing game.

Shame about his illness he could have been anything. I wish him all the best for next year and hope he makes a lot of people eat humble pie !!!!!

...mate that's just me....

And that's fine tbh. I knew it was you before I met you.
It was indeed a pleasure to meet you. Really. I was really quite happy when your mate came over and asked us if we were on the LU Forums, and he pointed in SW direction and said "that bloke over there is as well. It's parra pete".

I take you for what you are pete.

You are Blue and Gold, and as such, will always be a friend, despite whatever differences of opinion we have.

Brisbane Broncos coach Ivan Henjak not concerned about fullback role
By Wayne Heming
November 30, 2009
Brisbane Broncos coach Ivan Henjak has not ruled out using internationals Darren Lockyer or Justin Hodges at fullback next season with troubled footballer Tim Smith a big chance to re-ignite his NRL career with the Broncos.

While it's unlikely Lockyer or Hodges would slot permanently back to fullback to replace Australian Rules defector Karmichael Hunt, Henjak refused to dismiss the possibility of filling the role at times if it suited the team.

"We haven't settled on a number of positions," said Henjak, after overseeing Brisbane's first official pre-season training session at St Lucia on Monday.

"We're going to use the next 12 weeks to sort out who plays where and whether players can move to other positions.

"I'm really keen to be as versatile as we can with our footy side this year."

Hunt was difficult to defend playing as a second five-eighth with Lockyer in a successful second man move which created a number of tries for the club.

Unless he finds a player capable of duplicating Hunt's style, Henjak will have to make adjustments for the upcoming season.

"We've got a number of options there, I'm not concerned with fullback," he said.

"Josh Hoffman is a real chance, Dale Copley has played there, Denan Kemp's played there, Gerard Beale's played there.

"Justin Hodges is a chance to go back there, there's a lot of options there ... Darren Lockyer's played there in the past."

Smith, 24, played 71 games for Parramatta before announcing early in 2008 he was taking a break from rugby league to sort out some personal issues.

He hasn't played since having a stint with the English Super League side Wigan last year.

Smith has a contract with Brisbane club Easts in the Queensland Cup and as one of their dual registered players can play for the Broncos if they need him.

"If Tim goes well, there's definitely an opportunity for him," said Henjak.

"He's very keen to make an impression and he's pretty determined to get back playing in the NRL.

"He's obviously had a tough time at different stages of his career.

"He seems to have matured and wants an opportunity to make a go of it and we're prepared to give him that chance."

Brisbane have suffered for a number of years in the halves at Origin time.

A player of Smith's class would be a huge bonus.

"He's a first grade player and depth in that position is crucial for us," said Henjak.

"I don't know his past too much. He's had his battles with different things but he's 24-years old now, he's played overseas, so I'm sure he's grown up a bit.

"I'm looking forward to working with him, I'm sure he's got some fine qualities and some things in his game that can be good for us.

"We're going to give him a chance."/QUOTE]
