Seems like 2 won at the death and refs helped

2 incompetent teams that don't know how to grind, or play 80 minutes. Dragons and Knights. I am sure most of their fans weren't surprised by their last minute loss. We have been there in the past. It sucks.
Both were the better teams in their respective matches. But lapses cost them.

Dogs were lucky Sloan rushed out of the line with that final pass. They really should have lost the last 2 weeks.

Warriors were woeful for most of yesterday's match. They won a few key moments that mattered. Metcalf and Barnett are big losses.

And Hughes is probably gone for the season.

Also, Spencer just got destroyed around the ruck on the try line.

Big moment.

The Storm can lose players but if Hughes is done their season is over.

Top 4 is looking open too.

If we hold the Tigers to a single try we'll have a better defensive record than the Storm.

At our lowest ebb in round 6 (Fifth straight loss to Dolphins):

Equal last with the Eels. Second most points conceded. -38 differential. Its been an amazing run to get to where we are now.

@Oldpanther86 is right it does have shades of 2019:

We were second last round 10 in 2019 with 6 straight losses. We then went on a 7 win streak starting with beating Parramatta 16-10 at Commbank...funny that our current 6 win streak started with an 18-10 victory against Parramatta at the same ground.

It's a better team now at least is the one saving grace. They've hopefully learned since 2020 a few wins shouldn't make you complacent.

I want Hughes fit. Craig is the most overrated coach in rugby league history and I don't want him to have any excuses.

I get it but hard to prove it when they never miss finals while he's there. Imagine they drop off hard after he retires? Makes him look even better.

He's good but he's a cheat, he's never won without Smith and he's even less successful in Origin than Nathan Cleary. These aren't opinions, these are facts.

Thats why i get it but perception is fact as the old saying goes. He looks good on the surface of it and if they drop off after he leaves he looks golden regardless of the facts.

Not gonna happen. Hughes will be lucky to play a game again this season.. Paps is cooked. Line through Storm i think. They have been pretty ass all season .

We beat them full strength last year anyway. I don't like grand final replays. I'd much prefer a new opponent.

Dogs v Penrith is a new thing. Great for Western Sydney and the Dogs.

Raiders v Penrith for nostalgia.

Warriors v Penrith because its NZ and they love football. I want them to have some success.

If its destined to be a rematch I'd like it to be Brisbane instead of Melbourne.

I remember walking around Homebush before the Eels Grand Final. We were out numbered 15:1 by Eels fans.
Feeling all the energy get sucked out of the stadium after ~15mins of game time was so satisfying.

Would love to repeat against the Doggies fans - I reckon the fan ratio would be fairly similar. Might need to wear my bulletproof vest though.
