That's just not true. As stated he changed our team massively for a negative result.

Playing as our dominant half. The number on his back was irrelevant. He came out and changed his stance after a massive push from fans because he was backing his coach.

So if the number was irrelevant how can you say it was wrong him playing FB? It worked you can argue we have a better option now but last year and after the pre season it wasn't known. The fact we tried Peachey at 6 at training and DWZ at FB before the change was made shows coaches unsure too

No the opinion here is the coach has no idea. Dare someone actually mention reasons why he might have some idea. TMM is going very well still was motm the 2 weeks ago...Just not for us

You can mention reasons all you want and people will respond, whats the difference?

Edwards was motm for us last week. Cleary the week before. Moylan has at least two since his move to the halves.

We had DWZ or Hiku last season who could've played FB. Hiku came to us as an international.

Hiku was injured in Round 10 or something

So he was fit after the preseason?

We had Moylan, Cleary and TMM on the books as well as Sowie and Griffins first choice HB was peter Wallace last year. Moylan should of been 6 from round one, imagine where we would be right now. Him and cleary would played a whole season as a pairing together by now instead of still trying to figure out how to play together. Just another example of how Griffins indecisiveness and incompetence has held us back.

I saw that yesterday, but apparently only the anti Griffin posters such as myself ignore facts if they don't suit their agenda.

Hiku was a centre with us. We are talking FB and 5/8th so it is why he is left out of the discussion

He was a centre only for some stupid reason. He might of been better if he was used as FB or wing instead.

TMM was the backup though. Went alright. Gets injured then Cleary came in. TMM was being developed into a FG half before being injured. At the time he was injured was starting 5/8th was unable to do a full pre-season due to still training elsewhere.

Moylan carved up Scotland. As well as Bulldogs in a semi at FB. Why is it so un reasonable to keep Moylan at 1 and give the now fit 5/8th a run

I can recall and could probably find post from last year where you have argued he can play FB.

I did because we need a ballplayer at FB. We rely on the sweeping plays too much. I Think DWZ is a good FB too just doesn't suit our style

The opinion about having no idea comes from the results that followed his decision making. As someone who runs a team at work I know this is the norm. He made decisions that went against our success last year and people are trying to defend him now that (by accident through injury and TMM leaving) we are having some success again. Cartwright at 6 wasn't why we went well. It was Moylan playing as a half. Though Carty did put in a good effort for his part.

In that case I'll clarify my point. He was playing as a 6 while wearing the 1. The only difference now is that we can have a strong fullback while having the benifit of Moylan’s passing game. That's why him being good at fullback last year is irrelevant to me.

Because you cant give TMM a run and give him enough responsibility to continue his development without taking the ball out of Moylans and to a lesser extent Clearys hands and that just wasn't what was best for our side. Further to that when has two halves as young as Cleary TMM worked? You have to have a really quality well coached side around two young halves. We also added to the difficulty of this move by trying to implement the new fast and flat attacking structure with no variation to it at all. And again we added to the difficult of it for the young halves by chopping our centres and wingers each week for the first part of the comp which meant no combinations were developed etc...they should of been training all offseason with the same centres defending outside them, instead we changed it week to week for no apparent reason and had some of the most suspect edge defence I have seen.

Moving Moylan strengthened FB play but it also gives Moylan the best chance to perform at his peak. While he was our dominant playmaker over that run and playing just like a half he was still defending at FB. Trying to find balance between playing like a FB and a half is going to take its toll on you.

A fullback that improved 300% in 12 months. Before that development he wasn't an option so again why would a change be made until it was needed. Round 1 we had options. after that Newcastle game 2 or those options were gone

Yet when the coach when to the 5/8th that had us playing well it was a bad option? But not when a proven FGer is picked to play over a rookie?
He went to the second rower who had barely played a game all year, was suffering with injury and shoukd never have been 6 ahead of Moylan anyway.

Cartwright was only ever good at 6 when he played like a second rower and let Moylan do the playmaking. Which is why it was stupid.

Moylan needed help on the most basic fullback duties... kick returns. Edwards does not.
Cartwright needed Moylan doing the actual playmaking. Moylan only has a few defensive issues that Cartwright also had.

Both positions are stronger. Cartwright can now focus on developing after being f**ked around for 2 years trying to make him something he's not.

Dwz
Hiku
Edwards
Hardaker

All options at fullback... and no reason any of them at 1 with Moylan at 6 is inferior to 1. Moylan and 6. Cartwright.

They might have shortcomings... especially Hiku and Hardaker. But so did Moylan at fullback and Carty at 6. The difference is we would have actually been debeloping a long term halces pairing last year if Moylan was moved.

Not stunting the development of Moylan as a half, Cartwright as a secomd rower and creating instability with Cleary in the halves.

TMM should have been developed as our bench utility. Which is what he will revert to in 2018 when Thurston returns.
