Oh what a surprise looks like TMM is "injured" again
Maybe an agreement was made that TMM would only be released if he didn't play against us this year.

Kikau needs to be brought in for Katoa IMO. Need some more impact up front with Latu out.
While we certainly need some oomph up front, especially against the Cows, lets hope they've taught Dickfingers Kikau how to hold the football.

Has no problems in NSW Cup playing 60 minutes a game. As I have said before if you give a kid half a dozen minutes it is not surprising they have mistakes in there game given the pressure they feel to perform or do something special.

But he's given half a dozen minutes because in those half a dozen minutes he's made crucial errors.

The kid can obviously play, everyone can see that (incl. coach + management) but he needs to fine tune a few things. I'd be pretty surprised if he wasn't a regular fixture in first grade next year.

Yeah he was moved around abit in NYC. Seems to of found a place in the 2nd row we will go close to winning that so that and the WC will help his development big time

We seem to be holding JFH and Bryce back. Bryce especially did some good things time to unleash him on the Cowboys. It is a huge game will really test where we sit

In the 8, happy with that.

Griffin was right though, all teams need to go up a gear from here. We are playing semi finals footy from this week.

All games now worth 4 points on the ladder, starting with the Cowboys. Can finish the week in front of them.

Will be cheering on the Warriors, Titans and Tigers this weekend. If we get our job done and a few results go our way it could make for a far more comfortable and less stressful last couple of weeks in the season proper.

Add Knights and Broncos so we can go for top 4 :)

Girds says we are done.

“I just don’t think they’re playing the right style of football at this time of the year,” Girdler told NRL Tonight.

“Their last four weeks, even though they’ve been winning, they been against some of the sides at the bottom end of the competition.

“Even though they’ve been winning it hasn’t been a convincing style of footy that they play. They’re running it on the last, they haven’t got a lot of the fundamentals in order at the moment.”

Well I'll take what he has to say. Damn fine player who has earned my respect.

He's right about the fundamentals, especially basic aspects such as handling errors and poor 5th tackle options. Not to mention giving away silly penalties to allow the opposition a free march upfield.

Pretty much. Unless we catch them on a bad day our usual performance will be no where near good enough to beat the rest of the top 8, we can do it if we play well for 80 minutes but that's happened once all year.

Also that Gerard Condon bloke who makes a living tipping footy reckons the best bet of the weekend is us to miss the 8 at 3 dollars. Now he's not always right but if we don't win this week and the raiders do we are in trouble.

This is why the talk of extending the coach is just crazy imo, let's just wait.

Edit: If we do win this week it probably secures our spot though, you'd think we'd be able to pick up one more win from the remaining three at least, so its a huge game for us either way. We do not want to be going down to Canberra needing to stop the raiders leaping us into the 8.

I agree. This week is the big one.

The Dragons are by far the weakest team we will face over the next 4 rounds. I feel we need to secure the Cowboys and Dragons games to get our 8 spot.

As for Griffin, his cards already appear marked. He will be staying on no matter what the result is.

A bloke a work directed me to Roosters performances against the top 4 teams. Same would apply to them need the Broncs, Storm or Sharks to have an off day to win.

It would go Storm

Brisbane/Sharks

Roosters

Everyone else. I clump us in with anyone down to Canberra pretty much need to all play well and other teams to be caught

Two complete different topics here. One is betting odds, ie whether $3 is generous odds for us to miss the 8. Personally, I think it is about right. We only need to win two home games, one against a banged up team 3000km from home and the other against a team that has won 4 from their last 13. On form over the last 3 months and discounting one poor performance, you have to think we can do that.

Then you talk about the coach, and whether he should remain the coach in 2019. I'd agree now is certainly not the time to be making calls like this, but his winning percentage is about to surpass Phil Gould into second highest in the club's 51 year history, and with a very inexperienced team, so I do like his chances. What's wrong with doing it as soon as our on-field commitments are over, if that is what they want to do?

The club is clearly and quite publicly placing its faith in the current playing group to take them into the future, I'd be extremely surprised if that doesn't include the coach.
