Our run to the finals

I think the players minds have been on the finals for a few weeks. Whilst I don't expect to beat Melbourne next week, I think there will be a renewed enthusiasm with harder running and domination in the ruck.

We are as capable as anyone in going on a run, like the Cowboys did last year. No one will believe it until we see it but it can happen.

The reference point needs to be the Dragons game.

Yep but we've pretty much had a finals spot sown up for a couple of months.

I don't want to use injuries as excuses but lets be honest, we have had six fullbacks, two reserve grade wingers for the majority of the year, games where we've had back rowers play in the centres, two retirements, a season ending knee injury for a prop and our halves taxed because of origin.

These aren't excuses but maybe it points to why things have been so disjointed for so long.

I think we'll see a different Penrith attitude in the finals.

One thing is for certain, we all have to do our best to get to week one of the finals. We've seen what the support base has done for the team in the past two years.

If it’s any consolation the last couple of weeks from Canberra makes our win against Them look better...
Put 40 on those buggers. 28-5 in the second half. They grabbed a point because they knew the jig was up. It could have been the turning point, no idea at all why it wasn't....

Hopefully Maloney makes a big difference.
I'd like to see him rested next week. We don't need to beat the Storm and probably won't anyway. Unleash him in the finals, injury free and ready to carve.

Not to go over the same ground but we really didn’t badly at all up until origin.

We were leading the comp. May not of been easy on the eye sometimes but was effective.

People go on & on about giving up a lead in the first few rounds as if that means it’s not a real win & we must of played shit. The game goes for 80 mins & In the end we won those games comfortably. Its almost irrelevant when the other the scores their points.

I thought the Roosters might help our ladder position tonight but it isn’t happening.

7th or 8th is now looking very likely

big time - we are going out week 1. but if we can choose, let it be the warriors - its gonna be infuriating if we get knocked out by Brisbane again....
We can beat St Merge even in this form. They have a truly awful backline

Yeah I’d say we finish 8th and play either the Sharks or Dragons in week 1 @ Allianz.

Dragons we could pull out a victory, Sharks I’d say we’re no chance.
