Hope 'Miss K' is better at vox than doing metal faces......lol...i dont know about you but i dont think female vocalists are out of place in metal....just as long as they rock they can be just as good.......

I agree. I like a female vocalist. Lita Ford springs to mind. Good voice, but crappy song writer.

Yeah, i was reading up on Lita lately and found out that she was one insane vocalist....if not for what she wore, but for what's shes been reknowned for in her life in the fast lane

Still putting out albums right? She did a cameo in this crap movie called Highway to Hell....and yes, guess what she played?

LOL.

I have to play dumb here, because I have no idea.

Well her dress, or lack of it and standing on the sidewalk talking through a window of a car might help you out ;).....lol

STUPID MOVIE - DO NOT RENT IT

AH CRAP, BEFORE I FORGET!

EG EG EG, HAVE YOU SEEN THE MOVIE 'Trick or Treat'? Sorry about the caps...just needed to let you know since, if you didnt that Fastway did pretty much the entire soundtrack.....i taped the movie off Optus in December.....killer 80s crap!

Yes. Starring Mark Singer of Family Ties fame and the legendary Gene Simons.

An excellent movie and that's where I first heard fastway. The band is made up of Pete Way, I can't remember what band he came from right now and Fast Eddie Clarke from Motorhead.

I still have the movie on tape.

I should have known you would have known about it!......lol........Ozzy was a tv preacher on that movie....lol..gotta love it at the end of the movie when he says "This will turn them all into a bunch of perverts!"

Its a killer movie...for an 80s effort.....lol...and that guy that played Sammie Curr was amazing.....lol....gotta love when he shoots people with bolts of electricity from his guitar.....man that guy was very believable as a rock star.......not a bad storyline either.....well, that stupid bit with Sammie possessing the car was a bit lame.....lol

Still, its an 80s masterpiece.....crap by today's standards, but todays standards are lame...80s horror and action forever!

That reminds me, since i saw it in your list of bands that you like.......i only watched Nightmare on Elm Street III - Dream Warriors because i loved Dokken's tracks in that movie....Dream Warriors and Into the Fire are cool as! The female character turns up 'Into the Fire' playing on the radio to keep her from falling asleep but as usual, her mum ruins the party

That's right. I forgot about Ozzy in this movie. You just gave me a good laugh. Ta.

I love Dokken. George Lynch often comes to Australias east coast to conduct guitar seminars. Some very interesting stuff. I'm talking over a decade ago. I don't know if he does anymore.

Another good rock movie is "Thunder Alley." They have a Judas Priest rip off band in it but the music is pretty good. Whoever is playing the guitar is awesome, but it's not the actor. Leif Garret stars in this as the lead singer of a metal band and I tell you what, he can certainly belt it out. Not to shabby at all.

Ozzy definitely is weird in the movie....lol...especially when he goes the same way of that old lady that Sammy turns to charcoal after grabbing her through reaching through the tv screen....lol

I have time on my hands.....and shall see if Thunder Alley is in the video store....thanks for the info!

Tony Morello is a gimp.

He has a long way to go before he can be in the same class as Eddie Van Halen, Yngwie Malmsteen, Gary Moore or Michael Schenker.

Take out Malmsteen and put Chris Impellitteri in there dammit! lol

It's funy you mentioned Impellitteri as i have a guitar video of his from a few years back and i learnt to play most of his stuff....indluding his apagio's, classical sequences, Sweep picking etc ;-)

How the hell did you manage that? I'm figuring you have no joints in your elbows and wrists! Impellitteri is a legend, and if you can play his stuff then well, you're almost there! How long did it take to learn to get the pace going?

LoL

It took me a while before i could play his stuff at his speed, i don't know one day i was playing his stuff at a reasonable speed then?? it just clicked??

I now improvise my classical work from him so i guess in way's funnny how it may seem but he was a big guitar influence on me.

I can't play at that speed at the moment as i barely play the guitar anymore....in saying that i reckon a solid month full on on the guitar and i'd be back to the same speed.

Well since we have the LU Mafia - DIG, George Illa and myself......i'll dust off the old vocal chords and we can start the LU house band ahahahahah......you can play guitar while i attempt to impersonate Axl Rose with a gut and a voice that sounds like a cat is being drawn and quartered....lol

I could never imagine playing at Impellitteri's speed even if i practised....for about 6 years......lol

Do you listen to much of Impellitteri's band stuff? Or just his solos and lesson stuff?

You guys talk about ozzy selling out, just think how long did it take him to do that, you talking about a guy that did it his own way for 20+ yrs. Before the family show he was at the pinnacle of metal and he done that on his own after he left black sabbath, now tell me after RJD was a band s**t and went solo did he achieve as much status or popularity as OZZY did...the ansa is NO. OZZY was already a god b4 the family show, can you blame a guy for milking it for all its worth after all these years, i bet any one of you would do the same. PLAIN FACT ozzy did it his way and always will, he is a legend and the GODFATHER OF METAL. thats my 2 cents

I find this quote interesting...Yes Ozzy did sell out to a certain degree and what he does now good luck too him as he has made a wise business selection however...Ozzy didn't do anything his own way it was his wife Sharon that basically does everything for him including getting him off his lazy arse just to brush his teeth, also it was his fellow band mates in Geezer Butler, Tomi Iomi etc when he was that stoned and didn't know which motel he was staying in where to ...he was a shattered mess after that.

now tell me after RJD was a band s**t and went solo did he achieve as much status or popularity as OZZY did...the ansa is NO.

No he didn't however he isn't as controversial as Ozzie & didn't get up to the same antic's which always kept Ozzy in the news..Ronnie didn't have to be succesfull through a solo career as his musical idiosychesy's aren't appealing to the majority of the musicall audience..most old rockers that i know all reckon that Sabbath was made after Ozzy left & Ronnie joined, you may find this statement interesting but im telling you many people loved Sabbath's work with RJD then Ozzie.

Ozzy is know where near as talented as RJD at either singing, song writing or even day to day duties like not pissing on the toilet seat.

PLAIN FACT ozzy did it his way and always will, he is a legend and the GODFATHER OF METAL. thats my 2 cents

Godfather of metal??..sure Sabbath not him invented it, Tommy had a huge say in the way Sabbath's sound was which was totally unique at the time..Ozzy was a charismatic singer which is always good for keeping your self in the news.

Your entitled to your opinion but if your suggesting for one moment that Ozzy is more talented with probably heavy metal's all time most giffted voice then your mistaken.

Im not calling him the godfather of metal because i think he has a surperior voice to other metal vocalists, no no no thats misunderstsanding, i dont think he is the most talented metal vocalist out there, there are a lot of other metal vocalists far superior to ozzy in that department.

I got the label GODFATHER OF METAL years ago probably from an old hit parader or circus or maybe even a metal hammer mag, its just stuck with me. I just consider him to be that, as well as mighty sabbath the band i feel was the most influential on future metal bands and sounds. Now dont get me wrong there either, im not saying sabbath were the one and only not by any means a lot of other bands shaped the way metal prgressed over the years, i just feel the sound sabbath had back then was years before its time. Now lets not forget that sabbath werent always a metal bnd either, if i recall there was a band named EARTH around b4 sabbath and if remember correctly they were a blues outfit.

But seriously dio had some killer tunes and he does have a great voice but to me he is no ozzy, i remember as a teenager listening to dio's hungry for heaven and thinking it was a killer song back then, then again i listen to the stuff ozzy did with RANDY RHODES and to me dio doesnt even compare but hey thats my opinion and as it goes music is an art form where personal opinion shapes what we like or dont and no one is ever really right or wrong, you either like what you hear or you dont.

Then again we could always talk about RATT the band that never toured outside of the united states ;-)

Yeah that's fair enough, as i said everyone's entitled to an opinion...Ozz is a good singer...don't get me wrong i just reckon that Ronnie is a messiah when it comes to talent.

Hey don't knock Ratt!!...sure they should have done more tour's outside there homeland but?? they are huge in Japan where they toured there often in the 80's!!

Atleast Ratt was the first band to be played on Mars :D ;-)
