We should do something, but I am not sure what. Egg his roof? His car?
Nothing too illegal but still something that will send the message that society is tired of him.

Society would go too far if they had a real chance at removing him from TV and football

Yup, he's gone. Bitterly disappointed in this whole situation and Ivan needs to clear it up tomorrow morning. We are a (very slim) chance of still making the finals and we are being royally f**ked and destabilised by Gus.

Agree

Look I'll be gutted if Cleary goes and yes a part of me will be filthy at Gould and the Panthers. Whilst it is definetly unethical to approach someone who has more then 2 years to go on their contract with a Rival at the end of the day Gould is looking after his club. That is what I want my CEO to do. If it was in reverse I would have a lot of sympathy for the Panthers but ultimately be happy that he's done what was in my best interests.

The only person Tigers supporters should be filthy with is Ivan. When the Moses thing was going on last year he took a morale high ground and said QUOTE 'You sign a contract, you should stick to it'

As Brent Read said Ben Matulino packed up his family and moved countries to play under Ivan. A month ago he sat in Moses Mbye's living room and painted a picture of a plan he had for Moses career over the next 4 years.

He has signed aging Josh Reynolds, Russell Packer and Ben Matulino to big money longterm deals.

He made huge promises and commitments to the club, players and fans, said he has a vision and will make us a Premiership Contender during his time here.

If he packs up and goes it will seriously be the biggest dog act in recent memory for rugby league.
I honestly can’t see him going back to Penrith. Then again, I have been wrong that many times it is becoming embarrassing!

If the Panthers have offered Ivan Cleary a contract to coach the Panthers next year, despite having 2 years to run at the Tigers, how is this legal when you are not allowed to make an unsolicited offer to a player until they are in the final 12 months of their contract? Why is there this inconsistency with coaches?

Everything about this reminds me of the Stuart-Raiders thing
From the moment Furner was sacked it was known that Stuart would replace him... there was weeks of bullshit before it was formally announced but the simple fact is, the club had assurances that Stuart would come, which is why they ultimately were willing to sack Furner.

I would bet good money Cleary has already given the panthers assurances he's going to coach them.
Ivan's going to be coaching the panthers next year, which absolutely f**king sucks for the Tigers, but it's best they get used to that.

Great news for the panthers, it means they'll keep Nathan which is the only thing that matters for them right now, i dont really blame Gould, he has to do this, if he lets Nathan walk out the door, he's getting fired, that's just how it works in sport. So he's gotta do what he's gotta do to make sure Nathan is signed long term, if that means being an absolute f**king dirt bag and f**king over the tigers.. so be it

True. My only problem is Gus does it so well and seems to enjoy himself in the shitbag role.

Not sure. We could offer Tigers a player or two. All our lower grades are the best in the comp and we have a couple of senior players who are worth a bit to a team like Tigers.

That is a shrewd observation. Reckon Pascoe is smart enough to think of that?

Problem is Ivan has complete control of the footy dept at the tigers...

Shit go by Gus. It looks like young Cleary is running the place now so it’ll be interesting to see how the father/son combo works out, especially if his form starts to drop off.

Tigers should sign Maguire.

What if Nath is playing out of his skin but the team loses a few like Hook. Sack daddy?

I suddenly think Darius and Wayne have done this father/son shit so well for so long....

It feels like this is a ploy.

Gus goes all out to bring Ivan back.

Tigers deny release. Gus has his hands tied and gains leverage.

Gus says “Hey Nathan, we tried but it cant happen just yet, want to stick with us for a couple years and we will try again?”

Nathan agrees to sign till end of 2020.

Gus brings in his real target.

Gus wins.

Unless Nathan calls his bluff.....
