Panthers sack Griffin 4 weeks from finals

Losing Ivan.

Would like to get Nathan but happy with the way Brooks is developing. Im not sure Nathan would be $500K better than Brooks behind our pack.

Fair enough.
I think Ivan is better off staying where he is. He doesn't need to be Gould's puppet again. He will only sack him again. Nathan should spend a few more years developing before he plays under his Father.
Penrith would be better off starting a fresh with a new coach.

If someone can give me a good reason for why giving him an offer is unethical I'll happily change my position.
inducement to break a contract (which IC still has 2 years to complete) is generally considered unethical.

It shouldn't be to hard to understand.

Not that Gould, or I guess panthers fans, will give a shit if they get what they want.

No one is forcing him.

Panthers fans just want a genuine interview process to take place after the Griffin fiasco. If we get Ivan I'll be happy sure but if we follow the process and someone else is given the job that's fine by me.

Are Tigers fans more upset about losing Ivan or losing the chance to get Nathan?

Me personally? I feel we've come a long way this year. I'm more miffed about losing Ivan. Nathan would have been the cherry on the top but Ivan, while he has a long way to go, has started turning the boat around.

Coaches are not covered by anti-tampering though.

Were you in a coma during Sheens last year or two, Mick Potter’s reign and of course Taylor’s stint?

Farah was asked to leave because him and his management were playing games. He than spat the dummy when he got dropped to reserve grade. It’s probably the only thing Taylor got right.

I’ll also add, Leopards don’t change their spots.
Now I remember. I stand humbly corrected. I was under the impression that the players were ruling the roost.

No it isn't. Panthers owe Tigers nothing. The loyalty of a club is to it's members and sponsors.

Agree

Look I'll be gutted if Cleary goes and yes a part of me will be filthy at Gould and the Panthers. Whilst it is definetly unethical to approach someone who has more then 2 years to go on their contract with a Rival at the end of the day Gould is looking after his club. That is what I want my CEO to do. If it was in reverse I would have a lot of sympathy for the Panthers but ultimately be happy that he's done what was in my best interests.

The only person Tigers supporters should be filthy with is Ivan. When the Moses thing was going on last year he took a morale high ground and said QUOTE 'You sign a contract, you should stick to it'

As Brent Read said Ben Matulino packed up his family and moved countries to play under Ivan. A month ago he sat in Moses Mbye's living room and painted a picture of a plan he had for Moses career over the next 4 years.

He has signed aging Josh Reynolds, Russell Packer and Ben Matulino to big money longterm deals.

He made huge promises and commitments to the club, players and fans, said he has a vision and will make us a Premiership Contender during his time here.

If he packs up and goes it will seriously be the biggest dog act in recent memory for rugby league.

Like I've stated in the Panthers thread,I don't think Cleary should go because of all the work that he has put in,and I'm a believer of not chipping away at a club which is trying to find it's feet. But if he goes,it will be a polarising moment in Rugby League.

Best comme t regarding this situation.

I definitely sympathize with the Tigers fans. If Ivan comes across it means their coach and board have let them down.

If Ivan goes it's shit for the Tigers, but that's the way the game works these days.

I've come to accept that success always has a price, be it for your own club or another.

Technically legal or not, it's grubby by Gould.
And hypocritical - especially after his frequent moaning on Channel Nein broadcasts about "contracts not being worth the paper they are written on" these days.

And if Cleary walks out on his contract with the Tigpies you can close nominations on the Biggest Cat in the NRL award. That would be a complete merkin act.
