When the official forum closed down, a number of the forumites there came here.

They didn't want to come here but they did. But now they're all gone I think.

 yeah we scared them away.... I think they got a shock that there were Parra fans out there who dis-liked Brian Smith and had a few negative things to say about Daniel Wagon.

I cant believe that i spent almost a year on rleague before I even heard of League Unlimited. This forum is fast, up to date and massive.

Question: Would the NRL and its clubs still be liable if they posted a link to this forum?

Or

What if LU and the NRL had a $0 sponsorship thing going on. Like they advertise LU Forums and LU advertise the NRL (which it already does). Would the NRL still be liable?

And if Twiz is now an administrator it has the potential to see if him go to court and/or jail which is a big plus to the community.

Thumbs up everywhere.

I am not a lawyer, and I guess that is who the question is for, that or EFA.

I think a better idea would be for the club to have a link to this forum. Hell, I wouldnt mind seeing the NRL, ARL, the clubs, etc etc just giving LU the rights to be its official internet forum. Link them all to League Unlimited.

This forum is too popular and I wouldnt leave. Too many fans here who have alot of know how. I get most of my RL info from here.

This. Totally totally agree. Would be a boon for RL support IMO... although you'd get a lot of bandwagoners.

interesting scenario but I guess the NRL, being the official site , would probably not sponsor or recommend or want to be linked with other commercial sites which are not official as the NRL has copyrights on their product and things like the various logos etc which we do not have permission to use

if the NRL were to have a relationship with LU, I could see every other League and Sports websites crying discrimination and/or favouritism.

Just my opinion.

What's the difference between getting people to join the Football Club which offers benefits to members and to joining Men of League organisation which cares for the needs of injured footballers and players who are down on their luck.
I thought both would go hand in hand, yet I have been told by moderators that I need to get the blessing of the forum 'gods' to make such a suggestion?
Excuse me if I am thick, but I can't see the problem, can you?
Especially as the Men of League is a 'not for profit' organisation; it is a sporting 'St Vincent de Paul' type organisation that enables all former players and officials to stay in touch with the game and do some good.
I would have thought it was an organisation that Leagueunlimited would be PROMOTING instead of putting up obstacles.

Don't the moderators have the balls to see that? Need to take off the blinkers.....

I dont see how encouraging some one to join the Footy Club and trying to use LU as a free leg up to promote an event can be connected.

How is that fair to our sponsors that pay money to advertise yet you expect it for free ?

Excuse me if I am thick, but I can't see the problem, can you?

Is that a rhetorical question ?

Especially as the Men of League is a 'not for profit' organisation; it is a sporting 'St Vincent de Paul' type organisation that enables all former players and officials to stay in touch with the game and do some good.

So if something is not for profit, it should be advertised for free ?

Are we supposed to change our user guideline just to suit you ?

I would have thought it was an organisation that Leagueunlimited would be PROMOTING instead of putting up obstacles.

We never at any stage suggested or implied that we would not support it. You were required to seek permission, as is everyone else, yet by your own admission you refuse to seek permission because you "couldn't be bothered"

How is that our fault ?

Don't the moderators have the balls to see that? Need to take off the blinkers.....

If your eyes are in your balls I can see where part of the problem is.

If there is any part of our guidelines that you dont understand Pete, I'll be happy to elaborate for you.

Have a nice day.

MEN OF LEAGUE is a vital part of the fabric of Rugby League. It is an organisation doing good for the game..a positive rather than a negative. Wouldn't you rather push the positives rather than the negatives. What part of Men of League would your sponsors object to, what part would they find offensive to be pushed on a Rugby League forum. What sponsor in particular? Betfair? ING/ Take a Break? Google?
I couldn't be bothered seeking permission to promote Men of League because I couldn't believe the moderators could be so stingy. How come some Moderators find it OK and others don't?

BUT whilst I may not agree with your opinion, Twiz, I'll defend to the death your right to express it.
If you think Men Of League is not a worthy organisation to promote on a League Forum, that is your RIGHT.
I disagree. It is an organisation EVERY ex player should support by becoming a member...
