Clint 'Carige' Gutherson. He didn't just fail in the 80th minute, he was shit all game.

Yeah, that was Carige-esque. Two of his errors (the Hodges pass and a dropped bomb) lead to points and he barely held onto a ball beyond that.

The conditions certainly didn't make it a game for the ages but I thought Matterson and Dockar-Clay went fairly well.

Josh Aioli was massive that game, ZDC also did some good things. The starting front row from both sides were outstanding and we should be looking to poach one of them if we can.

As for the Eels boys:-

1. Josh Ailoio (sp) angry merkin but did nothing really.
2. ZDC. Was busy but lacks the passing game IMHO. Took the line on well. Good kicking game. Lacks a money ball. Plays like Sandow really.
3. Matterson played well but was quiet. Played solid and did everything that was asked. The game required someone to take control, to direct and yell at forwards. It wasn't him and the game fell out of the Roos grasps. For mine he has the size and skills to make it in the NRL, but needs to believe in himself and be a leader.

Matto threw some nice cut-out passes all year. One that sticks out from memory was in the quarter-final against Brisbane where he threw a nice pass to Lavaka which eventually led to a try.

And there in lies the irony. ZDC was always a hooker in his junior rep football. Played nsw 16s origin there and was often compared to Isaac Luke. Why the club has tried to turn one of the best young hookers coming through into a half escapes me. His running game is excellent and he has a decent pass. He should still be a nine rather than an ok half with dubious decision making, and a hit and miss kicking game.
