Haven't scrolled through the posts so someone could have mentioned it already. Congrats to Moeroa according to zero tackle he is the first Parramatta junior to make the NYC team of the year since prior to 2009

Has anyone heard anything about how our Under 20's players are travelling in their training? And also when will the District Rep squads be cut down to a smaller size? I'm assuming after the holidays?

NSW Indigenous Under-16s Squad for 2015

Parramatta Eels local junior and Eels Harrold Matthews Cup squad member Josh Curran has been named in the NSW Indigenous Under-16s squad for 2015.

Curran is among a host of talented youngsters who will play Queensland Murri Under-16s in one of the curtain raisers to the NRL and Indigenous All Stars clash on the Gold Coast on February 13.

“This is a fantastic opportunity for these talented players who performed exceptionally at the recent training camp at Narrabeen,” said NSWRL Indigenous Programs Officer Steve Hall.

Curran was proud of being selected and was eager to put in a strong performance to showcase his potential at an elite level.

“It’s an honour. I’m so glad to be able to represent my state and my culture,” Curran said.

“I’m there to do the hard work and do all the one percenters.”

“It’s going to be good to run out there, play with the NSW boys and to beat Queensland!”

The talented Curran had a strong 2014 season and after being named in the Eels Harold Matthews Cup side for the second year in a row is keen to help the Blue and Gold claim the title.

“It mean’s a lot to play for the Blue and Gold,” Curran said.

“I’ve always wanted to play representative footy for the Eels.”

“The Harold Matthews Cup was a good experience last year. To go around with the boys again in 2015 will be good and something I’m looking forward to.”

“We really want to give it a good shake and win the competition for Parramatta.”

Whilst Curran is focused on playing in the Indigenous clash, the tall rangy footballer has not let his sights slip by making sure he is making the most of his preseason and has his goals set for 2015.

“The training in the offseason is going good. The coaches have been working us hard and we’ve been getting pumped but it’s all been worthwhile. The coaches have been helping us on our game and improving on the little things,” Curran said.

“My goal for 2015 is just to get out there and play as many games as I can for Parramatta and to make the NSW State of Origin side”.

NSW Indigenous Under-16s: Zac Nuttial (Cranebook), Kane Allen (Forde), Lincoln Stewart (Eden), William Baker (Wauchope), Blake Taafe (Killarney Vale), Braden Stewart (Chifley), Tristan Reilly (South West Rocks), Johnathon Walsh (Belmont), Kyle McLean (Umina), Zac Saddler (Cooma), Feleti Mateo (Orange), KC Edmonds (Inverell), Josh Curran (Castle Hill), Jai Merritt (Dubbo), Josh Cook (Phillip Bay), Tyson Hodge (Wagga Wagga), Learoy Brown (Kingswood), Isaiah Barker (Kempsey), William Lockwood (Kempsey), Allan Lockwood (Kempsey).

Train-on squad

Backs: Jai Doolan (Cowra), Jack Carney (Sydney), Warren Baxter (Forbes). Forwards: Liam Bashford (Ngunnawal ACT), Luke Rosworne (Cranebrook), Percy Cubby (Goodooga).

Congratulations to Joshua who joins a good list of young Eels players making the Under 16's Aboriginal in recent years that includes: Michael Doolan, Troy Dargan, and Adam Campbell.

I was just looking at yesterday's training photos. There was no Tepai. Is he out injured or just camera shy?
Hoppa looks like he's bulked up a bit too.

On Tepai, there were a few players that weren't featured in the training pics. I'd say he may have felt something wasn't right in his body and was let to sit out the rest of the training and subsequently that's when the pics were taken. Nothing in it really, a few players sit out early training practices in case of soft tissue injuries.

As for Feleti Mateo, my cousin played a bit of football with him in Orange. I think he plays for the Orangs CYMS.

Half a season is enough to show he performed straight away. Because he did.

And because he is fully grown and matured I reckon he's more likely to have a good second season than Tepai Moeroa or Pauli Pauli.

Something about Tepai, just seems like that special junior that once they debut they stay in the NRL.

Tep was the professional in the Under 20's. The lines that he ran and the way he worked off of his halves whether it was Dockar-Clay or Matterson it made them look so much better. And his defence was probably the best the NYC has seen. Everything about Tepai screams long-term first grade player, his attitude towards training, his attitude on the field, his size. Most 18 year olds that are his size are awesome in attack but terrible at defence and those with the work-rate that Tep has don't have his size and pure athletic ability.

I have a feeling that we'll be seeing Moeroa in a City jersey next year. And possibly a SOO jersey in 2-3 years time.

I was reliably informed yesterday that we won't be seeing too much of Josh Aloia in the nyc next year.... The kid is killing it at training and will more then likely be playing first grade sooner rather than later...

He just looked so physically strong last year against regular NRL players. And the kid was only 18.
