Jye Challenor was player of the series in the Ntional U18 championships, but apparently didn't get the sort of training and attention he needed and thought he wasn't
improving. His manager moved him before June 30, and has been working to lift his fitness for past 3 weeks

190 cm and 110 kg, same height and 4 kg heavier than me, but Don't think it looks the same :) . He fits the model that the club is trying to bring through, understand he likes how Burt is putting things together, he is a mobile front rower but needs to up his minutes and impact

Thank you very much Delboy for the report on Challenor. I remember last year when Voss was commentating a Westfields game he kept talking him up, Voss watches a lot of footy so looks like he might be something good.

Seems like we're going to play the Tigers right through the middle with Twal, Stowers and Amone starting then we have De Luis, Dresler, and Challenor coming off the bench. Should be an interesting game plan.

Plenty going on in age recruitment, talking to the right people , seems that Roosters, Moanly and Tigers are offering our 14 year old incentives to switch early. Then they realise and want to come back but door is shut, Manly run a coach from Mounties, Cabra and Hills area for training and junior rep match days

Rorters have recruited the Westfields Sports coach into their system, Tigers hve 8 players in system from Panthers and Parramatta and will continue their raids

The crunch time is to make sure we contract the right players at 16/17, told that we have NRL players coming through the system now, who have been wth us for the past few seasons.

Hearing Turnbull has been released. Apparently we have halves at least as good as him and comfortable with the release

Matts will be very competite again in 2017, but we plan to coninue in Ball with younger players to prepare them for higher duties as early as possible

If you think juniors etc is a waste of time, then this thread is not for you. The obviously few of us interested, have relationships in the juniors through family and friends and clubs

Actually watching Matts and Ball is very enjoyable, especially for those of us that grew up watching 3 grades on match day

Good to see a talented junior coming back, be interesting to see how he progresses.

I remember he was named in the centres for NYC once back when he was 18 (might've been only last year). That's usually a good sign - not a lot of 18 year olds (players turning 18 that year) play in the NYC.

Anyway he was a late withdrawal on game day.

Supporters will always feel a special bond with a junior of the club. A fans fave player will not be an import... You want to create your own heroes. League isn't like soccer where its international. It is basically a state game and the bragging rights are and always will have a lot to do with your juniors.
