I remember going to a couple of pre season sessions in January 2018 and seeing Alvaro lapping Hayne in some of the drills.... I get that Hayne relied on his explosiveness and not endurance, but even still, I was underwhelmed watching it.... and then the season turned out the way it did.... the season was a sum of its parts....

To be fair, Alvaro was a pure endurance athlete. I’d expect him to do well in those drills.

Well Momoisea was in the centres that game too. Both were forwards playing in a team with no players.

Picking Blackburn on the wing is like picking Matto on the wing.

Not really when Blackburn has been at centre previously and he also isn't as developed as Matto or Jirah (should be anyway)

MA should do a full pre season but should not be on a development contract. Ffs his dad's the coach he ain't leaving..

What about the idea of having merkins coming through the grades and winning comps together? SG Ball only goes for half a season anyway.

Well you would now have the Merkins that won Ball and are now in Flegg stay together not go back and play younger kids..

I also attend training sessions when I come to Sydney, and I agree. We are shit.

Good to hear the NRL are finally giving some respect (and a little bit of benefit) back to clubs who try and develop their own juniors.
