well, do you also have a problem with the rest of the board not stopping Duncan doing his thing on ozzie??

It's good they are no longer part of the club.

Pride ------------ hhhmmmmmm
Passion --------- hhhmmmmmm
Parramatta ----- hhhmmmmmm

In reflection since May 2009, there is a lot to be said for all of the board & PO.

So on the one hand, Glen Duncan wasn't part of "that mob" (originally)... but then on the other hand he was part of the "same mob" that won the election last year?

I'm getting confused... it's all spinning out of control .

I actually don't know if he's a good coach or not because he doesnt seem to have a squad that can compete to execute his game plan...

I'm not the type to blame the coach for the sake of it.

out of the 17 in the squad he has signed & extended 13 of the team.
Hindmarsh, burt , moi moi &poore are the only players not extended by him. This is his team whether people want to believe it or not.

So there is no excuse anymore

Couple of points;
1. I think we will soon discover that PO back ended alot of contracts and there will not be $1.8m available to purchase players.
2. The threads continual point the blame in the direction of Roy and yes he might be the Chairman but is only 1 vote on board.
3. What about the other faceless people on the Board who sway depending on public opinion.
4. Two Directors (one former) instigated the DA sacking and SK recruitment and are now having that person on radio telling people that it was not the case.
5. The SK 5 year plan and Academy is fantasy land stuff, Hasler has already proven that with good coaching and preparation players and teams can improve. Our U/16 and U/18 are not in the top 8 for the first time in over 10 years, the U/18 got beat by C/Coast yesterday.
6. Yes, perhaps the Board have to accept some of the blame, but the coach is the one who coaches the team, prepares the team, picks the team.
7. Performances on the field are a reflection of preparation, coaching and player attitude..... all ingredients missing at present!

We need change in our playing and coaching ranks, 2012 is over before it really started!

LOOK THE BOARD HAS TO GO....
CANTERBURRY CLEANED UP THERE ACT AND THEY ACTED FAST I CONGRATUALTE THEM FOR THAT.WTF IS HAPPENING AT PARRA.
THIS KEARNEY BASHING IS WARRANTED HE CANT COACH.WHEN HINDY THREW THAT OFFLAOD IT WAS LIKE f$$K YOU .FORGET STRUCTURE.ASK YOUR WIFE WHEN YOU MAKE LVOE TO HER IF SHE WANTS STRUCTURE THAN FLIP HER UPSIDE DOWN .IT WORKS FOR MELBOURNE CAUSE THEY HAVE A FREAK IN SLATER.
IMAGINE PUTTING IN ALL THIS EFFORT KNOWING YOU WONT WIN.WE NEED TO F;;KN OFFLOAD ITS OUR ONLY CHANCE TO BREAK THE LINE.INSIDE BALLS SOMTHING FOR f**K SAKE ...THE PLAYERS NEED TO BE ALLOWED TO PLAY.I HOPE STEVE LISTENS TO THIS

Please dont compare a club that tips in just over 6 million dollars a year from their Leagues Club to footy club.

Their board is almost as bad as ours, Khoury and Dib are the biggest crooks in that club.

They just have a great CEO who says the right things.

Duncan did not act alone he was well supported by Sard and Osborne, the later convinced the Board to change coach and fed incorrect information to the Board about player tensions with DA.

I agree and I won't say anything more on this because the moderators will remove this post. Lets just say that there are very interesting connections with a particular board member...;-) I wonder if another board member decided to take a much closer look?

This so called “cleanout” is just garbage. There is a cleanout nearly every season. Take a look at today’s squad & compare it to the squad from 2007. How many players are still here? What 5, 6, 7 out of 25-30 squad members? I am all for building for the future and investing in the juniors – as I am sure we all are & I am not privy to the “work” being put into such an investment by the current coaching regime. However, I suspect this “academy” is nothing more than window dressing for a return to a system Brian Smith put in place whilst he was here – which has been somewhat neglected since he left. The only difference is the progress Brian Smith was making was evident from the outset. My main gripe with Stephen Kearney and his coaching staff is the lack of results. Even more than that, it is the lack of progress with the NRL squad. Surely, you have to show that improvement along the way to building a club’s future? A good example of this was Des Hasler with Manly. They showed steady improvement year after year until they won the competition. At the moment, we appear to be going backwards. All we hear is excuses as to why it is not working yet. Excuses designed to gloss over the distinct possibility that Kearney may well not be capable of getting any more out of the team.

As far as Hindy being tapped on the shoulder, someone here said “If it had of been Bennett doing the tapping would there still have been the outcry?”. Well, no. That’s because Wayne Bennett has a track record of success over a long period of time – which PROVES he knows what he is doing. We, on the other hand, have a coach that before last year had never coached an NRL side. Whose resume consisted of 2 successful campaigns for New Zealand while Wayne Bennett was in the camp to hold his hand (nothing of note since) & being an assistant coach under Craig Bellamy. Well, at least we can all rest easy in knowing the drills sessions are run like clockwork nowadays. There are a lot of people putting their faith in someone who was hired on the recommendation of his mates. To me, the Parramatta Eels NRL team are currently under the tutelage of nothing more than a coach’s assistant in a head coach’s jacket & Stephen Kearney is living proof that lack of ability and experience will never stand in the way of you getting the job you want if you have friends in high places. It also leads me to believe that those running the club were (& continue to be) naive, gullible and clueless.

I mentioned last year that I feared we were heading back to the dark old days of the late 80’s/early 90’s & there were those of you on this forum who shot me down with great vigour & conviction. Tell me, how are feeling at the moment? Still confident?

WOE

Always look forward to your posts Wise Owl.
Excellent as usual.

There's nothing wrong with the player talent. The problem is with the leadership group not giving a f**k about the team.

That's correct. You can add Sio to that list, but obviously SK rates him. Apart from a handful of players the team that he selected on Friday night were all players either recruited or retained by him. So the argument 'he doesn't have the team he wants' is invalid in this case. Chances are no coach will ever the team they want, the salary cap doesn't allow it. So you have to make do with the best team you can make available.

Or the problem could be the coach simply not being able to get the best out of the playing talent, which is his fundamental role.... hence why the poll is 50-50?

Are u serious. Stagger always yelled about kearney, Milan & Arthur having full control of signing.
Sio, lasalo mannah Blair, keating, reni Morgan, tongas, Roberts, sandow, paulo, allgood have all been signed or had contracts extended under kearney & his team.

What happened to SK demanding full control over player recruitment and retention? It wouldn't surprise me that Osborne signed both the Tonga brothers considering he used his connections to sign Poore and Tahu when DA was in charge, but it seems just to be a case at the moment of 'blame the guys who've left' for the position we are in.
