Parramatta Leagues Club board sacked, administrator appointed

Depends on our share of revenue.

He has said that he wants the NRL team to approach self sufficiency, so he seems most concerned with the leagues club members, specifically not forcing the PLC to waste too much money funding a sporting team.
Unless he manages to change the way the boards are elected then we'll be back in our rut pretty soon after he f**ks off.

I think that's part of Max's remit... as part of implementing the NRL recommended changes from the governance review the club accepted in February?
I don't pay attention to that stuff but just because the NRL want him to make such changes doesn't mean they can be changed, as you're aware. I'm all for change but not necessarily anything pushed by the NRL, or Greenberg in particular.

Our club has problems, but we have to remember we're coming out of a period of domination by the emperor. It was likely it would take a few resets after that. I like that our members have a say in the club. They should get more of a chance to see if it works.

I've been a fan of the staggered election cycle and director terms, since the notion was first proposed.

Implemented properly, it would mean no one election in isolation could result in the balance of power changing, and any faction/ticket has to work hard over several years to end up with a chance of a board majority - if at all, depending on how the indepenedent driectors come into play. None of the factiosn could be trusted to put in place such a system while they were holding onto power, so I hope Max takes this unique opportunity.

We've been f**ked over for power games and empire building for years/decades. I want to see how a more professional goivernance model might serve the Club and its members, rather than be stuck with the usualy Fitzy/Spag/future warlord circus.

That was an inspired decision by Donnelly and the board, imo.

Bernie brings years of NRL CEO and business experience to the club.

Brilliant signing!

Once we're back to elected boards, how long do we think Bernie will hang around?

There is no indication that we will have a fully elected Board (for the NRL side of the business) ever again.
A % of directors will come from elected PLC Board members however the remainder will be 'independent' and will therefore be more likely to be more professionally minded than those that get elected by popular vote.

Professionally minded Board members like professional CEO's.

Good news. Sterlo recommended him once this drama unfolded as he was previously in charge of the Roosters and has good experience.

Ive been told at least 3 years but hopefully its during a time when we're in a good position.

What will be interesting is th reaction from K*nt and Ikin, and how Hardley reacts to the emperor being removed from any influence.

A great day as the club starts to rebuild and reenergise :)

LOL love to see both Kent and Hadley explode over this.

so how will the DT put their negative spin on it? I have a couple of thoughts
"Eels hire Roosters reject" or
"Eels have to look OS for CEO after all of Australia rejects them"
