i dont know where this 'DA is one of the best coaches around' comes from....

what has he ever acheived?

5 Grand Finals, do they count for nothing now?
2006 Super League premiership.
Three straight Challenge Cup victories 2006-2008. Also nothing?
BBC Coach of the Year 2006, first time a Rugby League coach has won it.
Took the Warriors to their first finals series in 2001 and their first Grand Final in 2002.
Dally M coach of the year 2002.
Won the World Club Challenge with St Helens 2007.

Yeah so, not much.

Really am looking forward to Kearney coaching the Eels next year.
Let's see the results before we bag the bloke.

Me too - lets hope he can win back the veteran players (upset at the sacking) and discipline the Gen Y sooks who couldnt handle Anderson yelling at them/ asking them to train properly / follow instructions.

If Kearney can sign a few impact players and put the team through a good offseason of training, I see no reason why we cannot be a top 4 team next season. The glass is half full for me and ALWAYS is with Parra - what more can I do but hope!!!! :D

I remember before Anderson left us in 2000, he coached the Reserve Grade team to a premiership win. Players in that team, Andrew Ryan, PJ Marsh, Ian Hindmarsh, Chad Robinson. Pretty good side with plenty of future.

Prmiadonas or what!!!!!!

3P got voted in because there was a massive "jobs for the boys" mentality ingrained into the joint where near enough was good enough. Never mind the fact that we are a powerhouse that has won no premiership since 1986 - we should have won 3 or4 since then.

3p were voted in because people wanted a change in culture which said things like "we went well jast year, we have great players, even though we missed the finals we might do better next year". Everyone who voted 3p in an Fitzy out said "enough with that crap - lets change culture - make the tough decisions - and become a winning club".

And the first sign of that, everyone whinges "oh no - poor old Ando"

Yes, we got to the GF. Relying on the most flukiest winning streak in history. If we lose to any one of those clubs in the last few rounds of 09, Ando's record is 10th and 12th. At the end of those minor premierships our for and against were +2 and -80. That, with the best attacking back (Hayne), the best attacking forward (Fui) and the best defender (Hindy) in the comp.

Our game plans? Give it to Jarryd.

But he's a nice loke - if we punt him we'll punt you.

Personally, I'm not into employing nice blokes - we aint a f*cking charity. I want to employ winners. Same thing Doust did when he punted Brown (nice bloke) for a winner (Bennett). Same thing Politis did when he punted a nice bloke (Muzza) for a winner (Gus supervising Stuart).

Yes, the culture of our club has changed. That is always hard to deal with. But it HAD to change, and it HAS.

12th - with a roster like ours (and yes Morts is a f*cking talent) - us unforgiveable.

The board has done it's job. Well done board.

And if Kearney gets us to 12th - he'll go too. And we will be no worse off then.

Noone seriously expected Ando to take us to a premiership in 2011 did they?

Within the space of 2 years got the Warriors to minor premiers and their first GF. Won the ESL I think 3 years in a row (correct me if I'm wrong). Got us to a grand final with a very poor roster IMO. Get back to me when Kearney has done that.

2006 Super League premiership.

Do they not have a funny cap in the ESL and his club could spend more?

???

The Super League operates under a salary cap system that will calculate a club’s salary cap position at the start of and throughout the season
  • The combined earnings of the Top 25 players must not exceed £1.6 million
  • Clubs will only be allowed to sign a new player if they have room under the cap.
  • Clubs are allowed to spend a maximum of £50,000 on players outside the Top 25 earners who have made at least one first grade appearance for the club during the year.
  • Costs for players outside of the Top 25 earners who do not make a first team appearance will be unregulated.
  • Any player who has played for the same Club for at least 10 consecutive seasons will have half their salary excluded from the Salary Cap for his eleventh and subsequent seasons. This is subject to a maximum of £50,000 for any one club.
Four Straight League Leaders, three straight Grand Finals and three straight Challenge Cups is not a fluke. Either is taking a club to their first finals series in his first year, or taking them to their first grand final in his second, nor is taking the Eels to a Grand Final in his first year at the helm.

And Loudstrat, just go f**king follow another club if you only care about success, like it or not, Anderson's 2009 record is - Runners-up (the best legal team), not 'oh they would have been tenth if only we didn't win all those games'. You know, cause Dragons should sack Bennett as 'if they didn't win 17 games they would be last'.
If the culture of the club changes to an attitude like that of yours, then I don't see how anyone would want to support Parramatta. Kearney will be gone too ay? How about if after 3 rounds we're 12th, punt him! In fact any coach that loses a game should be sacked! I can't wait until our club becomes the coach merry-go-round, new board says 'new coach every year, immediate success or you're out fo here!'

I remember coming 12th in 2004, then for some stupid reason we didn't sack the coach and if we didn't win all those games in 2005 we wouldn't have even made the eight!

Noone seriously expected Ando to take us to a premiership in 2011 did they?

Did anyone expect him to take us to the Grand Final in 2009? Does anyone expect Kearney to take us to a premiership in 2011?

I think the criticism of Paul Osborne is harsh. I believe the man behind the push for Ando to get the sack was Roy Spagnolo. He is anti fitzgerald and wanted the club to get rid of everything fitzy had brough to it, which included anderson. Roy pushed forward the board meeting to sack him.

So i think we should lay of osborne for now and look into what part spagnolo has played in this.

Brilliant post.

And let's not forget how smart Anderson was, he knew we could only beat the Dragons once last year so in the last round of the season he rested Hindy and Grothe and was tactically brilliant in beating the Dragons in the first week of the semi's. That wasn't Hayne that was Anderson's smart coaching and tactics. No one ever mentions that or gives him credit for it, when I think it was brilliant coaching.

acheivements in the ESL mean diddly squat in the NRL unfortunately....

i mean if you want to make a list of acheievments even Michael Hagan looks good.

Look as much as i like DA personally he isnt the man for the job. His coaching tactics dont win games in the current game.... maybe back in 2002 but since then his coaching hasnt moved on.

Ah, no it doesn't, it means a lot.

You asked what he has achieved and I answered, and it is a lot, and a lot more than many other coaches.

Hagans's achievements are:
2001 Premiership
2010 State of Origin (assistant coach)
