Fair enough. Isn't there some number Eels Office or Ticketek can give out so people can ask if tickets are left two hours before kick off, to save you the hour and half trip for nothing?

Yep there is it is the Ticketek number.

Sorry ron, your crowd figures are wrong as far as I can see. If you can back them up with some proof. I would me more than happy to acknowledge them but I have been a Season Ticket Holder for 9 years, and was a casual before that and I can not reason in my mind those average crowd figures.

Yeah but you quoting Rleague.

If Parramatta fans wern't Fickle, we would sell out every game every week.

Either way your question has been answered. SOPA has a DA for expanding the Stadium.

We had some pretty dire crowds earlier this year Ron when we werent travelling well ie Melbourne this year and Nth Qld last year.

Ok, so they are out of Sydney sides, yet we sold out V brisbane when we were on a roll

Same last year and 2004.

We need to be averaging more than 15,000 a season on a regular basis to increase the seating by 4000 seats Ron. The Manly game was unfortunately advertised as almost sold out through a couple of media outlets but was never officially recognised by the club who would have normally had a media release sent.

The Dragons game was pretty near to sold out and would have had the weather been better. The Broncos game sold out 2 hours short of opening.

we do have fickle fans. you only have to go to a game during the times of when we are struggling and then go a few weeks later after a mighty win to see the real difference.

It's plain to see that most Eels fans turn up as per the team's performance. They don't turn up when the boys are struggling to try and spur them on. They love to reap the rewards of say a 2005 style season, but as soon as we start to struggle in 2006, *nice person* they're all gone again!

btw i use the term 'most' loosely because there are just so many people who come out when we are winning. They well outnumber the average fans who attend regular games

Well then by your rationale every league club in Syd is fickle

And those stats are legit.

How many teams do you no attract sell-outs when 3-9 and without a coach?, actually how many teams would sell-out even at a 50% record?

Not doubting your figures Ron, but as averages, they obviously include the opposition fans that also attend Parra stadium. Some teams bring heaps - I remember the day Newcastle brough 15 coachloads down for a Sunday asrvo game...

If we're just talking about oru supporters, then I believe 9,000 is the baseline number that will attend a home game no matter what - losing streak, night game, poor weather, no out of town supporters. I think that's the lowest we've gone. Given that the highest we can go is 20-21 (mostly Parra fans for Broncos sellout), I think it's fair to say the supporters base as a whole can be fickle, at least as fickle as every other club's?

Name a club that in Syd that would?, nissing my point, if we are fickle, then that doesn't say much about the other Syd sides.

And also the fact we have only won one premiership since 86, yet our average since is 14,000, better then anyother Syd side.

Game, Set, Match.

Word.

For the rest of your quote though, eg supporters, look at those stats again and you'll find we attract probably better crowds away, an dthat other teams support is applicable to anyone.

Whether we are well supported compared to other Sydney clubs, and whether we are also fickle in our support are two separate things.

They can both be true at the same time...
