It may not be fickle but how many of them are opposition fans as well?

The pointy of the matter is Ron an average of 14,000 in a 21,000 seat stadium isn't going to see the capacity increased. If we were averaging close to 18 or 19 thousand then there would be some cause for the ground capacity to be increased.

How can you even bring that up as opposition fans are applicable to every side.

Did you check our away crowds from 86 to 2006?, might be in for a shock.

Yes. Every team gets bigger average crowds, more sellouts etc when they are winning and successful. Your stats (if you look year by year and compare them) show exactly that, and generally speaking the differences reflect the amount of "fickle" or fans that don't or aren't able to commit regardless of results.

Most Australian sports fans are casuals, in that they are not season ticket holders, as that culture has not been as necessary in NRL, AFL etc as it has been in say the English Premier League and NFL where you can't get a casual ticket on the day, stadiums are all season tickets and pre-booked, and sold out virtually every game.

I actually think everyone in this thread is agreeing on something, it's just that we're using different language and it's getting in the way?

I'm not in for a shock mate, I am aware. We still have to be avergaing in the high teens for the giovernment to provide funding to increase the capacity.

It's not so much the point that those stadium weren't selling out, it's that they weren't up to scratch.

To bring them up to scratch for a start. Having the Prime Minister and the NSW Premier as fans doesn't hurt either.....

Swing Seat, But funnily enough you will find that the Parramatta Eels is a very low concern to the people that leave in the Electorate.

All in all, as I said it has been approved mate and now that SOPA own the stadium, the Money will be coming to upgrade it eventually.
