Isn't Mortimer one of the blokes this forum hates??? Just letting you know he would be very welcome at the Raiders..a good young Club with supporters who encourage - and not denigrate their players - especially those still maturing and finding their way.
You people will not realise what you had until it's gone. I would suggest you encourage players like Daniel Mortimer, who in my opinion, will develop into an outstanding five eight, maybe as early as 2011..but definitely by 2012..

I don't think its hate, just see that he doesn't suit our style. We need playmakers in the halves and Mortimer isn't a genuine playmaker. His greatest assets are his tenasity and his darting runs.
If he were to go to canberra i dont think he would make their starting 13 and would struggle to make the bench. With Campese at the club where would you play him.
The one club that I think could us a player like Mortimer is the Gold Coast with prince at halfback or Melbourne with Cronk at halfback. These to clubs have very strong organising halves who can do most of the hard work while Mortimer contibutes and adds some spark.
ATM out best bet for an organising half in Murray, who is very young still and would need someone who could ball play outside him to take some heat off him if he is to play. The other option is Robson who would definatly need a genuine ball playing 5-8 because most of what he does is very telegraphed.
TBH if the Radiers signed Mortimer I would just laugh and both parties because the Radiers would have paid overs for someone the will languish in NSW or QLD cup.
