The player is signed for less than half a year! It’s hardly high risk.

To me it’s clearly “difficult” to try to sign a JDB replacement for 6 months... by difficult I mean “FU NRL” for screwing us...

Only positive is this guy only came cause he couldn’t get a game at storm, and has half a year to force somebody to sign him!
We have had a position vacant in our roster all year regardless of the JDB situation
One should ask why were we not able to fill that position?
We have gone all year without someone in the full time roster and now we sign someone for 6 months to cover JDB
Lots of names most well known to us were in the frame and none of them eventuated and out of nowhere comes Kaufisi
We had to fill the vacancy and did so at 5 minutes to midnight where other clubs lock in contracts with plenty of time to spare
Last card in the pack stuff as far as I’m concerned
If Kaufusi gets a gig in 1st grade straight up whilst others waiting for their chances languish in reggies IMO the morale in the place will sink to bottom of the Marianna Trench

Its not always a case of filling "That" position...Clubs look at their roster up to 4 years in advance...It is actually a good sign that Millward is being patient and trying to find the right player out of the ones available..we would be looking at who is coming off contract at the end of 2020/2021..and looking at how to juggle current contracts in order to target prospective players coming off contract.

In terms of millward only signing duds Hunt/Norman..were good signings.............Nene asked to leave and the club were happy to accomodate this...( Hint .Read between the lines )

Shows how some people have a misdirected understanding of the process.

I fully expect someone to counter this with he signed Kaufusi....Yes for the remainder of this year...

Not really an issue...we have to fill the 30th spot and Coach would more than likely be looking for an experienced player outside the club as he doesn't like to blood younger guys....

I can't really say too much more on a public forum....BUT...Millward is not the problem....many factors working against him.

Front rowers don't develop to their best until late twenties early thirties so there's hope. And eat some pies and put on some beef. But maybe only a second rower or lock like JDB. Got it put Ben to hooker, Macca to lock and Patrick can play wait for it halfback and there we have it like for like.
Can I be coach huh.
No not a coach not if you expect front rowers to develop in their early 30's. Give the CRL a call, they usually retire there in their early 30's

I have often said Millward’s job is not easy because of coach and I would love him to say exactly that.
I have also said that IMO he has his eyes on the coach’s job
Indeed sorting rosters is not easy and securing Pereira, Pearson, Ravalawa whilst extending Aitken really required some strength of resolve
