As for losing players because they feel they should be playing 1st grade, that happens at all clubs and would still happen if we had Bennett or Bellamy coaching. You can't play 30 guys in 1st grade each week. We get over losing players, we find another potential superstar. Kurt Mann, is he setting the world alight at Knights? Jack Bird spits the dummy because he couldn't get a gig in 1st grade with us, just another average player. Beau Henry, Evander Cummings.....You been following their glittering careers have you? Jai Field may make it one day, but more likely with another club. Same with Reece Robson. They are not better players than who we have in our top 13 now. As for Zac Lomax, yes, love him as a player but even he is not irreplaceable if he chooses somewhere else thinking he has a better opportunity. And he looks happy to me at the moment.

Tell me who of our top 17, current squad, do you think is not a happy player right now?

P.S I love your deflection...again..what makes you Happy about the McGregor situation? what has he achieved. ? 1 finals win in 5 1/2 seasons....Compare that to Souths who sacked Maguire after 5 seasons and he won them a Premiership....

We had the most memberships in the NRL in 2011, and the Chief Operating Officer went on the record in 2013 announcing a target of 40,000 memberships within 5 years. The numbers are stagnant. Just like the club itself.

But hey, the players seem happy.

But it is not up to me, nor you, or any fans. Someone here even stated he is done because the club ignores the fans wants. He wants to follow Broncos. Do you think his voice and opinions are going to be heard and acted on by Broncos management? Ridiculous.

I was just saying that in my opinion, the core of our players seem content with Mary as coach. And as a fan, I want a happy team.

No fan will ever see Mary's abilities the same way the players do. They seem happy and want him as coach.

Bottom line for me......if the players are happy, I am happy!

I do actually agree with you here, I DO think the players like him, and I do believe this is important as a coach if you want your players to believe in you, but it's only 1 factor in being a coach. You can be the best guy in the world, but it doesn't mean you'll be a great coach. His deficiencies have never been in his popularity within the club. He needs to show he is learning from previous mistakes, something we are yet to see.

I hope he proves so many wrong and leads the club to success, but there is no evidence that he is making alterations to the things that have cost us in the last few years, and that's why so many fans are frustrated he has been extended before he has demonstrated this.

At the end of the day, I'm not sure after 5 years how a best finish of 7th on the ladder is good enough, where losing 8 of your last 12 games every season is worthy of an extension now.

Crikey ! I wish you fellas would get of my back , I am a far better coach than you give me credit for. I can guarantee that the Dragons will be getting twice the amount of ball this year when we are attacking , as I will be giving the forwards 1 and the backs the other - twice as many points , cannot lose !

Yep the core of the team are happy as you say , they don't have to worry about playing well every week , as they will not get dropped if they don't perform , the only changes have been through no choice , injuries that have given other players a go .... So yea that's why they all like Mary good bloke but not a good coach .....

I'm sure there is a sensational story about nepotism and corruption at SGI. If only a few of the illustrious media reports would dig deep and expose the behaviour of key decision makers at SGI, I'm sure WIN Corp would go into damage control and quickly move to limit the fall-out.

It is time for concerned St George Leagues Club members to stand up and demand change to the way delegates are appointed to the SGI Board.

Fair enough re Mary...In regards to players, I have been told that a number of our Top 30 are being monitored/Watched by other clubs...all of them are seen as excellent prospects and if other clubs offer them a starting spot it will be hard for us to keep them...our lower grades are being monitored...Other Savvy clubs know we have talent .this is FACT...not my opinion....I cannot divulge any more....

If McGregor continues to pick and stick certain players then we will lose some excellent ones. Enough Said.

I thought it was bad enough when fans didn’t care about results, they just wanted effort! That in itself is an acceptance of being average that I thought was above Dragons fans!

But now? Who cares about results? Who cares about effort? We just want the players to be happy! Let the team plod along with a ceiling around 7th place, as long as they can have a laugh off the field that’s all that matters!

Under Mary we have a tough and patient squad that always turns up, puts in the hard yards and usually deserves to win. We have loyalty for and from the players.

Huge mental scars are still pretty fresh from the Brown and Price years and am much happier with Mary than change for the sake of change.

Do you not think the other clubs are looking at lower grades of all clubs? Do you not think we are looking at lower grades of other clubs? That is the way NRL works. All clubs have potential superstars not getting a look in at 1st grade yet. Billy Britain, Beau Fermour, William Kennedy, Jake Turpin, and so many more. If one of our guys, including Zac, chooses to move on because of better opportunity, I say see ya later and good luck with that. If a player doesnt want to play for Dragons, I couldn't give a rat's arse about them.

Now talking about young guys and attitudes, you may know if this is true or not, but I heard from a current under 20's / CC player that Eddie Blacker spat the dummy pretty hard a couple weeks ago because he was dropped from CC back to 20's, and plenty of the other guys are noticing his attitude. For Christs sakes, the kid is 19 years old with a lot to learn yet. Many of these young millennials think everything should be handed to them right away.
