*Edit: I completely ballsed those stats up at first. But the above are correct*

In the name of impartiality, surely these are concerning statistics. I know that not a single opposition fan cares, but the stats are undeniable.

Tommy, can you do the same table, but show how many times each team has been penalised themselves? Would be interesting to see if the Roosters received the least penalties, but also were penalised the most too.

We have had more than our fare share of fair tries dissallowed over the past few years but hey let's just focus on one. Go back to brokeback mountain and support your one man team.

It's a conspiracy against the Roosters.

I don't have the stats but seem to recall it mentioned that Canberra were the most penalized team in 2014 with the Roosters second about 7 or 8 behind.

That's rich coming from fans of of a club who screamed from the rooftops they were robbed 3 years in a row (even though Robert Lui blatantly knocked the ball on), and that it was all an NRL conspiracy against the Cowboys.

So pot/kettle much....

How the hell have the Sharks received 33 penalties this year and still haven't gone close to winning a game?

He called double knock on for the ball hitting Roosters number 17 (not even going to try and spell it) after Seg lost it. Not sure if it actually hit his hand or not but it was close.

Even if he just called play on he was always going to have to call time off because Seg was down injured

I am not sure which game you were watching, however in the one I watched, Seg got back to his feet around the time Aubusson was tackled. The ball just flew out of Seg's hands and straight into Aubusson, there wasn't even a juggle, it was straight in. Play on 100 times out of 100.

How do you explain the Roosters receiving 13 penalties less than the average and 8 less than the 15th team. In addition receiving 20 less than the 15th team in 2014.

When you clear away all your tears, you come up with an explanation that doesn't involve "it's a conspiracy against us"

To be fair last year was more brain dead idiots like Tallis and smack head Johns than the Cowboys themselves who didn't really blame the officials at all.

No he didn't https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FgaIVrrhMcg

I don't think 17 touched it with has hand or wrist, but in real time from where the ref was, I think it was understandable that he made the call. It isn't some conspiracy against the Roosters as much as you want it to be

Yep, not one Cowboy official or administrator claimed we got robbed last year.

Can someone point out where in the rulebook it states that the referees are obliged to give a even share of penalties?

It's not - but the law of averages works wonders over time

Take the Roosters out of the equasion for a minute - nearly every other team in the competition, over an extended period will find that they give away and receive a fairly similar number of penalties.

The next worse offender to the Roosters has a differential of close to -100. That's about 10 penalties down per season or one every two games. Most other teams, by and large receive what they concede.

Why is this? People can cite individual players, deliberately conceding penalties, coaching tactics, the fact we defend more etc

We've had different coaches - from the days when Gus left Bondi. How many coaches have we had since then? 6? They all instilled poor discipline as the way to win games? Ah yeah. Right.

We've had different players (yes we've had the occasional penalty machine, but then so have lots of other teams)

So we're also to be believe we've been deliberately conceding penalties for 15 years or more to win games, when every statistic shows that conceding penalties loses you games. That would be a smart move. Why doesn't everyone else do it?

We defend more? Yes, we do our share because we concede so many f**king penalties.....

The only factor over time that can bend the law of averages is the human one. Look at the humans that award the penalties both FOR and AGAINST teams and you'll find a large part of the problem that the Roosters are faced with. I'm not saying we're not part of that problem, but we seem to be held to a different standard to everyone else and that isn't fair.

You know why the Roosters don't receive penalties? BECAUSE NOBODY LIKES YOU

I actually think you've hit the nail on the head regarding the Roosters

But this logic doesn't explain why Souths receive so many

I may need to reconsider my position now. Damn you.
