Penrith's draw this year...

no losses to Queensland teams this year. Wish we could trade a game against the Sharks for a second shot at Broncos. 8 injuries before kick off and still beat an in form Cowboys side who were looking at top 4 if they win.

Panthers side keep winning against the odds. I'd like to see any other side win 3 in a row with our injury list.

I think the rest of the sides that are in that situation are busy making excuses aren't they?

No excuses here.

Proud to be a Panthers supporter right now.

That starting back row is crazy, the fact we have succeeded without it makes me more excited to see it when it's back.

Segeyaro, if injured, will be our biggest loss yet. Although we have a capable replacement, without seg we are one dimensional and the storm will likely pick us apart.

Our success is purely proof that depth can be as important as a ridiculous top 17.

Full strength we aren't the best. Take 5 players our of any team and Panthers would easily rise up above. The more injuries affect squads, the more Panthers rise to the front. Best team overall. But reserve grade is where we will win I think.

Good thread. Reminds me of another where some1 was adamant Soward was shit, and could only play well in a team well on top and shouldn't be considered a clutch player... Well Sowie has been doing a damn fine job leading this depleted side to win after win... Eat it haters! Stick it to them Pennies!

Sir James of Soward was nothing short of brilliant tonight. This isnt the first game this year we have won of the back of his "clutch" plays either. I liked him when he was at the Dragons, but now its love.

Forgot about that one! Haven't heard from the enforcer for a while.

Segeyaro is the hooker of the year, surly they will fold without him present.
Segs might be OK, but anyway, we did alright against Melbourne with KK at Hooker. Our reserve grade wrapped up their minor premiership weeks ago. Write off this club at your own peril ;-)

Against Storm we will be missing:

6. John
7. Wallace
8. Kite
9. Segeyaro

11. Peachey
12. Cartwright
13. Taylor

Potentially missing Yeo as well, not sure how his injury is going. I'm assuming Simmons will be fit.

Only thing in our favour is it being a home game and having only lost once at home this season. I keep doubting us through injury, but Segeyaro is a huge loss. His spark in attack has changed our side since he has been starting.

Seriously though, Penrith deserve huge respect for the way they've delivered each week this year, the thread on their draw is laughable... I haven't looked too closely, but I would suggest my lot (Warriors) have had a very favourable draw and are still on the edge of the playoffs... and our game against you might determine our fate

John was our first choice replacement for Soward or Wallace. He would be playing first grade at the moment if fit.

He was even picked for New Zealand before his injury. At many clubs he would be first choice, so laughing at including him is ridiculous. He's a first grade quality player, just like many of our depth players are.

He would not be first choice at many clubs, FFS...

I give your lot a wrap, and you get all twitchy about John

Mx your blowing your own trumpet to much again, panthers will go out in straight sets in the finals and deep down you know it especially now after the final blow where segie might be gone for a while.

Finals football is a total different cattle of fish and you don't have that star marquee player that will come up with the big play at the right time unless you actually consider that to be soward?

But as long as they have the right kettle in their squad they'll have a chance to win finals matches in the future?

Good on the panthers, they are just refusing to give up their top 4 spot. This is no 2010 side who were the worst top 2 team in the history of the NRL, they are capable of going deep int he finals.

I don't think they will be able to lift their game with all these injuries come September but you never know.
