Must be terrible disappointing.;)

Yes. The "implosion" block don't have any regard for this competition's strengths and a future with genuine growth. Carving up the farm (and one of the best sporting farms in the world ) is both reckless and blatantly disrespectful. Ignorance is a big factor in all.of their negative discourse.

The lunatics asylum for you titoelcolombiano ! Tri- colours is another of many whom can see the flawed thinking that some of you have. No need to feel insecure that their are plenty of others that are aware of what's at stake. Basically your logic is compromising 100 plus years of a much envied and marvelous competition with its foundations based from Sydney's clubs. You lose them you lose the plot! Once again their is no objection to additional clubs but some would rather see the game on its knees!

What are your views about the NSW killing off the longstanding traditional Brisbane clubs in the 1980's? Doesn't matter to you does it, because Sydney clubs are the only thing that matter in the NRL right?

Engaging in a negative discourse is quite a thing for the Great Dane! Along with the disrespect and total ignorance of what makes the NRL tick is such a poor reflection on his relentless pursuit to weaken this envied competition.

Do you want to know what makes the NRL tick Stallion?

  • Broncos - NRL's biggest club, highest memberships, biggest attendances, best TV ratings
  • Storm - without a presence in Melbourne we lose Telstra as a 'national' sponsor and lose any credibility as the 'National' RL, also highest rating sports team on TV in Melbourne (let that sink in)
  • Warriors - 20 million a year from Sky NZ and their presence in the NRL is a big reason for this. They also engage away support like no other team providing the season's best gate for several clubs each year without fail.
  • Parra, Dogs, Souths, Dragons - the Sydney clubs with the biggest fan bases (yet to ralise their full potential and become as big as they could because they are being held back by smaller Sydney clubs that are lumped into the basket of ''all Sydney clubs are historical and important and we can't live without them'')
No, the NRL will not die if a smaller Sydney club is moved to NSW Cup and replaced by Perth. Yes, the NRL will be in big trouble if something happens to one of the above clubs. It is not all about all Sydney clubs.

I don't recall the NSWRL or the ARL killing off any Qld clubs - I think that's probably because they never happened!

Poker machine's are not illegal. So if some Brisbane clubs were unable to compete how is this any ones fault? except for maybe there own and maybe Bjelke - Petersons.

Hey Stallion - the NSWRL's decision to include the Brisbane Broncos effectively killed the BRL. The two leagues could have quite easily merged their best clubs to form a much more balanced national league (still majority Sydney) and kept a lot more support for the traditional Brisbane clubs. But this doesn't matter does it because the death of these traditional clubs are not from Sydney.

Different context and scenario. The Sydney competition was the catalyst for the NRL. The Brisbane clubs were not. Extremely different.
Btw. Should Tri-colours refer to you as Great Dane in response?

It's quite comical your response. From the people that don't support "implosion " there is no angst against any of the 'expansion clubs"? The issue is if you implode the reason for the success of the NRL, which is its foundation clubs and there rich and well known rivalries ( generational, cultural and location based) you will sufficiently weaken the credibility and imprint of this existing popular competition. Go figure ?

So you put zero value on the tradition and history of the BRL clubs simply because of the power of poker machine money? Seems pretty shallow. I though you were all for history and traditional clubs.

I'm pointing out to you that maybe once apon a time the NSWRL Competition was all about Sydney clubs. Now it is called the National RL and Sydney clubs aren't all that matter anymore, in fact there are a few competition critical clubs outside of Sydney. The second point was that not all Sydney clubs are equal and not all are of equal importance to the competition.

At no stage have any of the anti-implosion comments denigrated the external.clubs? In fact most of us support additional clubs!? If you are repeating this to sound righteous? It's misplaced. The issue is you don't rid the competition of its very significant and important foundations. Or else it will be a competition without soul or credibility. In fact a NO COMP!

Meanwhile the stagnation block are happy to stay as is for fear of what may or may not happen, mean time the game goes nowhere fast.

I wouldn't rid the competition of its foundations, soul or credibility. My version of the comp would keep all of the clubs that ensure that: Brisbane, Melbourne, Warriors, Eels, Souths, Dogs, Roosters, Dragons. Other clubs are free to apply but not all will be successful.

All others that didn't make my NRL would be looked after with the respect that they deserve, in a national fully professional second teir that is televised and that is not just relegated to being full of feeder clubs to the NRL. My second teir would add even more traditional rivalries to the game of RL than the NRL can hold alone and will be more affordable to run than the NRL allowing clubs to play at traditional suburban grounds against traditional suburban rivals in family friendly time slots.

So you would give all that territory and its fans to the AFL and the other codes Another 1 step forward two step back s type of guy.

This argument makes zero sense what so ever. Do you honestly think if AFL cut Nth Melbourne and St Kilda RL would take over those areas? Do you honestly think AFL with its two teams in a city that seemingly has very little interest in the sport if TV viewing and participation rates are anything to go by would suddenly be able to take over large swathes of Sydney? Do you think the NRL couldn't hold Sydney with say 6-7 teams to AFL's 2? If the answer is yes the game must be really weak already in Sydney and therefore not much to be lost.

That's where is doesn’t work. The 2nd division idea is not (repeat,NOT ) acceptable for these great clubs you dismiss as relegation clubs. It's not right and its disrespectful!
The lack of understanding the importance of cultural generational and locality based support is incredible and astonishing! Are you of adult age? If so and you come up with this stuff, then you require a brain overhaul immediately!

You are definitely delusional . We have Northern Sydney already being a rugby league wasteland! And you still come up with carving up the foundations of this competition? Might add the success of this competition is wholy and solely due to its foundation clubs. The expansion clubs have benefitted and rightfully so from this established popularity that the Sydney clubs have both in Sydney and Australia wide.

The disgruntled fan bases would give AFL other sports a free kick .Yes. and yes again. It would Certainly give there TV numbers a boost. Do you think that Swans and Lions would have got such a firm foot hole in NSW and Qld if there hadn't been such turmoil in our game in the past 25 years? Its not about holding it, its about loosing territory. And giving it away for what ??????? to Alienate more League Fans.

The real question here is why would you want to give them an opportunity? why would you want to alienate league viewers?

According to the Tv figures there are 70 thousand NSW viewers watching the Swans on a Fri night.

And when the Lions were going the numbers would have been similar in Qld.

tO aLIANATE

lol have you seen the AFL tv audiences, crowds for GWS and genuine registered playing numbers in Sydney? They have literally spent hundreds of millions of $'s on getting very little back. NS hasn't become an AFL stronghold. The swans crowds are no bigger now than they were when NS was cut from the comp. The tv audiences are no different now than when NS got cut. The evidence simply does not stack up that people in NS became AFL fans because the Bears now play in the second tier.

The game has strengthened and grown despite losing some foundation clubs, it will continue to do so as time marches on. Its as inevitable as you using the word dilution.

Im wondering if Stallion is actually a computer program dedicated to trolling...

He cannot form full sentences or understand debate. He just keep generating buzzwords and meaningless sentences.

Surely no one is actually so thick...
