Tv companies were willing to pay afl $600mill a year. Leaving $200mill on the table was mind boggling, and seeing some on here trying to defend the indefensible is even MOre staggering.

Maybe it had something to do with ad timing/revenue ,no of teams etc etc.

The $550m he speaks of is for 2031. He chooses to leave that part out.

On 2031 money the current NRL deal is $510m.

Except a new NRL deal with atleast 1 extra team will start. Which will see the 2031 NRL deal be well higher.

And contract guru, you have no doubt overlooked Paramount's financial situation in the U.S ,added to the dire prediction of Peter Van Olsenen ex employee of Ch10/CBS about theat outlets' major issues.
Would have been really exciting if Paramount had paid the big bikkies and as they have been cutting back reneged on the Tv deal with the fumblers.You then have to rattle off excuses big time.

Volk would be good as would Bam Bam (Panthers) and Rob Whittaker (Bunnies) to cross promote between sports.

The challenge is going to be time slots that appeal to both the US and Australian time zones to cover both sports.
